Chamber News Line: New Restaurant, Prayer Breakfast, Community Wide Garage Sale & More!

New Restaurant Open
Tejavan, a new Mexican Restaurant in Beloit has opened at the junction of Highways 24 & 14. The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM plus Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Prayer Breakfast
The Beloit Ministerial Association and other volunteers are sponsoring a Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 3rd. The breakfast will be held at the First Christian Church, Family Life Center at 321 N. Mill Street.
The guest speaker will be Beloit High School Football Coach, Greg Koenig. He will share his experiences with "Prayer for Jadon".
The breakfast will be from 6:30 to 7:45 AM and it is open with a free will donation welcomed to help with similar events in the future.

Library Update
Construction activity continues for the new Library in Beloit. The former cafeteria building on the former Beloit Juvenile Correctional Facility is being renovated to serve as a new library. Workers have transformed the building with new walls, lighting and flooring. Within the past week tile and wood trim has been added and a circulation desk has been built.

Trail Update
Students and staff from the North Central Kansas Technical College have started dirt work for the new walking trail on the North Campus property. Some grading has started and a fence has been removed. Materials for the base and trail surface are expected to begin arriving next week.

Raceway
The 2012 Racing Season begins at Solomon Valley Raceway on Saturday, April 28th. There will be a play day on Saturday from 2 to 5 PM.
Jayhusker racing will begin with mod lites. Hot laps will begin at 6:00 PM and the green flag will drop at 6:30 PM.

Huelskamp Touring Region
Congressman Tim Huelskamp will host three town hall meetings with constituents in our region on May 2nd. Since taking office in January 2011, Congressman Huelskamp has hosted 116 town hall meetings in Kansas' Big First.
He will kick off his day in Mankato at the Mankato Community Center from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. From there he will make stops in Smith Center and Phillipsburg in the afternoon.

Community Wide Garage Sale
The annual Community Wide Garage Sale in Beloit will be held on Saturday, May 5th. According to staff at the Waconda Trader over 50 people will have sales included on their map for the annual event.
