Red Cross Blood Drive is going on until 3pm Friday August 28th at the Veterans Building in Osborne.

A benefit for Paul Seehoffer of Beloit will be held Friday evening August 28th at 5pm at Trapper's in Simpson. The benefit will also be on Saturday August 29th at 1pm. Enjoy food and music by different bands, $5 cover charge.

Starting Monday August 31st, "K" Road between 130 and 180 Road on the Tipton Blacktop will be closed to replace a bridge.

You've spent a lifetime working hard, when you retire, will you have enough money? To prepare for this stage of life, you are welcome to a free workshop at Zion Lutheran Church, 621 N Mill in Beloit on Wednesday Sept 2nd. A complimentary supper will be served at 6pm followed by the workshop at 6:30pm. The staff of the KIDS FIRST Program will be conducting a free screening for children birth to 5 years of age living in Jewell, Mitchell, Lincoln counties and parts of Osborne county that are in the Waconda School District. The screening will be conducted in Mankato during the morning of Friday September 4th at Rock Hills Elementary School in Mankato. Parents having any questions concerning their child ages birth through 5 may call the Beloit Special Education Cooperative toll free number 1-888-738-5275 before noon on Friday August 28th to make an appointment for your child. Approximately 30 minutes will be required to complete the screening.

 

Now is the time to sign up for Girl Scouts. Troops are now forming in Mitchell County for K - 12th grade girls. To join, go to Kansasgirlscouts.org or call 888-686-MINT. Anyone signing up on the web site by Sept 1st will be entered into a drawing to win tickets to Taylor Swift's concert in KS City on Sept 21st.
