Need help with fall cleaning? Yard work? On wednesday, October 1st, St. John's Catholic School students are holding their local Social Justice Day in our community. Students will be available to any Beloit resident or business from 9am - 2pm for work. Examples of requests include washing windows, deep cleaning of house/garage, washing/cleaning cars, and light yard work. Please call Sheri Eilert (534-2488) to requests students for a job. There is no charge for these services.

The staff of the KIDS FIRST Program will be conducting a free screening for children birth to 5 years of age living in Jewell, Mitchell, Lincoln counties and parts of Osborne county that are in the Waconda School District. The screening will be conducted in Cawker City during the morning of Friday October 3rd at USD 272 Board Office 708 Locust in Cawker City. Parents having any questions concerning their child ages birth through 5 may call the Beloit Special Education Cooperative toll free number 1-888-738-5275 before noon on Friday September 26th to make an appointment for your child. Approximately 30 minutes will be required to complete the screening.

Lost a Golden Retriever named "Dog." Last seen by the shooting range in Simpson wearing a tan collar. If found call 738-8801.

The Jewell Christian Church will be showing the movie "God's Not Dead" on Saturday, September 27th. There will be pizza at 6:30 and the movie at 7:00. The public is invited for food, fun and fellowship.
