Agricultural and livestock producers in north central Kansas will be able to take advantage of industry experts' knowledge during Farmway Coop's second annual "Helping Our Owners Succeed Summit."
The summit takes place Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Beloit Municipal Auditorium in Beloit from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
"Agriculture is an integral part of our community and will continue to play an important role for the future," said Mallory Wittstruck, Farmway communications director. "This summit is a way to keep the lines of education open from the agricultural industry as a whole direct to our local agricultural community."
Keynote speaker is Dr. Barry Flinchbaugh from Kansas State University discussing the political economy for 2014 including topics such as the Farm Bill. Arlan Suderman, with Water Street Solutions, will discuss future factors that may have significant market impact and how to best plan and partner for success. Allen Dutcher, High Plains Climatologist, will discuss the ongoing drought problems that have affected the southern plains as well as recent atmospheric patterns and how they may impact warm season crops.
For Farmway Coop, the summit is another important element of its commitment to "help our owners succeed." For those wanting to become a Farmway owner or member, please contact a Farmway location or call 785-738-2241 for a membership packet. Information is also available at www.farmwaycoop.com.
