Dorothy J. Kump

Dorothy J. Kump, the daughter of Virgil Jones and Beaulah (Peake) Jones, was born May 20, 1932 at Mahaska, KS and passed away on July 1, 2014 at the Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 82 years, one month and 21 days.
Dorothy attended the Lowland Country School in rural Munden, KS and the Hubbell Grade School. She graduated from high school at Ontario, OR.
On August 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Kenneth C. Dake and to this union was born: Wayne, Loren, Glenn, Neal, and Merle. The couple made their home at rural Chester, NE for many years and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1989. She was united in marriage on November 24, 1990 to Virgil Kump and the couple made their home in Oberlin, KS until moving to Belleville in recent years.
Dorothy worked as a secretary at the Republic County Probate Court and later at the Chester-Hubbell public schools for several years.
She as a member of the Faith Baptist Church, the Gideons Auxiliary, and also enjoyed gardening.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Dake, and two grand- daughters, Janelle Dake and Mandy Alvarado.
She is survived by her husband Virgil Kump of Belleville, KS; five sons, Wayne (Jan) Dake of Deshler, NE, Loren (Rachel) Dake of Sioux City, IA, Glenn (Jan) Dake of Claremore, OK, Neal (Karen) Dake of Munden, KS, and Merle ( Cindy) Dake of Munden, KS; 10 grandchildren: Josh Dake of Sydney, Australia, Lisa Dake of Gainesville, FL, Lance Dake of Sioux City, IA, Logan Dake of South Sioux City, NE, Kasi Roach of Tulsa, OK, Chris Dake of Chester, NE, Bryan Dake of Bentleyville, PA, Kari Rundus of Belleville, KS, Rebecka Dake, and Elijah Dake both of Munden, KS; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Von Jones of Eugene, OR; three step-daughters and families, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Faith Baptist Church, Concordia, KS with Pastor Rex Fuller, officiating.
Interment will be at the Chester Cemetery, Chester, NE.
Visitation will be from One PM until Five PM Wednesday at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith Baptist Church or Gideons International.
