Republic Co. Cross Country Invitational Results

The Beloit Junior High and High School Cross-country teams traveled to Belleville Thursday to participate in the Republic Co. Cross-Country Invitational. Schools competing included: Host Republic Co., Concordia, Pike Valley, Clay Center, Wakefield, Marysville, Riley County, Tescott, Smith Center, and Clifton-Clyde.

In the Junior High competitions, the girls finished second. Medal honors went to Kylie Mihm who finished in 8th and Nicole Wiese in 9th place. Other runners included Emma Easter 12th, Shyann Higgins 18th and Abbey Vetter 28th.

The boys Junior High team edged out Riley County for first place. The top runner for Beloit was Tristan Brummer who finished in second place. Medal finishers also included Chance Kopsa 5th, and Alijah Twaddel 6th. Other runners were Bryce Mason 16th, Jacob Swisher 20th, Riley Gronewaller 22nd, Tristan Armstrong 28th, Calvin Duden 34th, and Treyton Croisant 36th.

Girls varsity race consisted of 37 runners. Savanna Cox finished 7th for the Trojans and Michaela Pingel 18th . Other runners included Erin Kelley 22nd, Belle Finney 25th, and Mackenzie VanPelt 28th. The girls team finished 4th overall.

The boys varsity competition saw a total of 57 competitors. Anthony Nunez was the sole medal recipient with a 13th place finish. Other Trojans were Logan Mong 22nd, Taylor Travis 26th, Caden Emmot 27th, Brendon Mason 33rd, Trey Richard 36th, and Chris Chandler 42nd. The boys team finished in 6th place.

JV results included three medalists, Paige Hafiger 3rd place in the girls race, Gannon Grauerholz 6th, and Nick Meier with a 9th place finish in the boys competition. Other runners included Dustin Williams 11th, KC Swisher 26th, and Jesse Vetter 35th.

The next action for both the Junior High and High School teams will be next Thursday as they will run in their own Invitational at the Beloit Country Club. Races start at 3:45 with the Junior high competitions followed by Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity and the JV races.
