Cheryl Warren, Age 69

Cheryl Jean Warren, the daughter of Ward and Shirley (Springer) Thompson, was born on January 10, 1946 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on February 16, 2015 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 69 years, 1 month, and 6 days.

Cheryl was one of 4 children, growing up in Superior, Nebraska and was a 1964 graduate of Superior High School. She graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1967 and worked at the VA hospital there before moving to Columbia, Missouri where she worked for over three years at the Children's Hospital. Cheryl then moved back to the Jewell County, Kansas/Nuckolls County, Nebraska area where she spent the majority of her nursing career at Brodstone Memorial in Superior until retiring in 1999. After retiring from nursing, she was a dental assistant for her brother, Ron Thompson in Superior, Nebraska.

She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Superior. On September 19, 1989 she was united in marriage to Douglas I. Warren. Cheryl loved her family dearly, as well as her extended family of friends. She enjoyed genealogy and ancestry research, crocheting and antiquing. Cheryl was also a proud chairman of her high school alumni and was instrumental in planning many class reunions.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Shirley.

Survived by her husband Doug; her children Devin Wilson and wife Holli of Lenexa, Kansas, Melanie Zoltenko and husband Lannin of Courtland, Kansas, and Haley Weik and husband Derek of Carson City, Nevada; step sons Tony Warren and wife Angie of Hastings, Nebraska, Troy Warren and Jay Carson of West Pueblo, Colorado and Eric Warren and wife Robyn of Hastings, Nebraska; 9 grandsons, Sam, Zach, Chandler, Taran, Taylor, Garrett, Ian, Dustin, and Darren; 3 brothers Bob Thompson of Hays, Kansas, Ron Thompson and wife Dee and Justin Thompson and wife Barb all of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
