Delbert Naiman, Age 71

Delbert Ernest Naiman of Gilead, NE the son of Ernest and Margarete (Kramer) Naiman was born February 5, 1944 in rural Gilead, NE. He departed this life Friday, May 1, 2015 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 71 years.

He was baptized February 27, 1944 and confirmed May 25, 1958 both at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilead, NE.

Delbert grew up in the Gilead area attending country school District 89 and then graduating from Hebron High School with the class of 1962.

Delbert married Sue Pickerell on April 22, 1973 at the United Methodist Church in Bruning, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.

Delbert was a farmer, he loved God's creation and working outdoors. He farmed south of Gilead all of his life. Even after his disability he continued to do what he could, driving grain truck, which was an effort to get in. Delbert also worked for Lentfer Irrigation in Shickley, NE where he welded, manufacturing different farm related pieces of equipment including gates, pivot bridges and many other things.

He was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilead and an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, Gilead Volunteer Fire Dept. and Hebron Masonic Lodge 43.

Delbert liked to take a ride, visiting friends at local coffee shops and just checking the crops, and seeing what was new. He also enjoyed hunting, making lawn ornaments, flag holders, and different things using his welding skill. Tractors were his favorite, either tractor show, tractor pulls, and enjoyed all the old models. Most of all Delbert loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter Ashlynn Farris

He is survived by his wife Sue of Gilead, NE, one son Andy of Gilead, NE, two daughters; Regina Farris and husband John of Aurora, NE and Kristine Houser and husband Ryan of Bruning, NE, brother Larry and wife Jean of Hebron, grandchildren; Alyssa Naiman of Gilead, Caleb, Dante, Kellen, Hayden and Jillian Farris of Aurora and Katelynn and Alexa Houser of Bruning, nieces, nephews and friends.

Following Delbert's wishes he was cremated. Memorial services will be held Wednesday May 6 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron at 10 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Keith Brozek, honorary casket bearers are the grandchildren, book signing Tuesday May 5 at Hebron Memorial 1PM to 7PM. Inurnment will be St. Paul Cemetery rural Gilead. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com, memoiral in care of the family. Hebron Memorial Funeral Home of Hebron, NE has been entrusted with the arrangements.
