Chester Sanders, Age 94

Chester P. Sanders, 94, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center, KS.

He was born September 29, 1920 in Jewell County, KS, the son of Harry and Eloie (Lane) Sanders. On March 4, 1941 he married Ollie La Dow in Mankato, KS. To this union they were blessed with two children, Forrest Eugene and Connie Ann.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence, Harry Jr., and Ray "Red" Sanders and four sisters, Idie, Annie, Fern and Ruby.

He is survived by his wife Ollie Sanders of Lebanon; a son, Gene Sanders and wife Cherril of Yampa, CO; a daughter, Connie Herndon and husband James of Lebanon, eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and thirteen step-great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren and five step-great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Price Cemetery, Lebanon, KS, with Pastor Laura Beth Fricker officiating. There will not be a public visitation, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Lebanon 1st Responders and/or Lebanon Fire Department in care of the funeral chapel.
