Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Board of Trustees meeting Monday June 22

This month's meeting of the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems took place last night.  Items on the Board's agenda included approval of the current agenda, minutes from last month's meeting, and the consent agenda for minutes from the Compliance, Department Head, and Treatment Committee meetings.

CEO Jeremy Armstrong presented information about competency-based governance and attributes in the education portion of the meeting.  He then gave his administrative report, in which he brought the Board's attention to 2015 hospice statistics and an updated board action report.  CFO Eldon Koepke delivered the finance and statistics report and Darren True reported that the hospital is receiving an A+ within the Leader Evaluation Management System offered through the Studer Group.

In new business, the Board recognized service awards recipients Vergaline Holdren for 15 years in patient registration and Nancy Clark for 20 years in utilization review.  The Doctor First Software Package was conditionally approved for purchase, contingent upon doctor review and further explanation of research into this package and other competing systems.  The Doctor First Software Package is an electronic prescribing and reconciliation system that helps check for conflicts and errors between a patient's new and existing medicines.

Finally, the Board was led on a tour of the lab by Lab Director Jo Albert and their meeting ended with an executive session to discuss medical staff credentials.
