George M. Hale, age 81, went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2015 at the Salina Regional Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1934 in Concordia, Kansas to James "Ginger"and Rosie (Jewell) Hale. He attended Concordia schools. George lived his entire life in the Concordia and Jamestown area.

George was a private in the US Army serving from 1957 - 1958 during peacetime at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. George started Hale's Refuse Service in 1953 and retired in 1986. He worked in the business for total of 19 years.

George married the love of his life Doris Fisher on August 9, 1963 in Glasco, Kansas.

They were blessed with four children, George A., Earl, Linda and Janet.

He attended The Baptist Church, Concordia. He was a member of AA Concordia, where he recently received his 28 year medallion at the end of February. George enjoyed gardening and selling his vegetables, watermelons and cantaloupes. George never met a stranger; he always had a smile on his face, and a friendly hello to all. He very much enjoyed visiting with anyone who would give time to listen.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of the home in Concordia; 2 sons, George A. Hale (Sheri), Marionville, Mo.; Earl Hale (Myra), Jamestown; 2 Daughters, Linda Hale, Tescott; Janet Snavely (Steve), Concordia 1 Sister, Geraldine Bunch, 1 Brother, Gilford Hale (Juanita) both of Concordia. 15 granchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Brother, Theodore, wife Virlene, Brother-in-law, Kenneth Bunch, granddaughter, Lucinda Lynn

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015, all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Rev Duane Snavely will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Military rites by American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588 of Concordia.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Ronald McDonald House in care of Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
