Marilyn Templin, Age 76

Marilyn Kay Templin of Hebron, Nebraska was born on September 23, 1938 in Haddam, Kansas to Charles Lafatte and Dorothy C. (Clark) Jones. She departed this life Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 76 years.

Marilyn attended school in Belleville, Kansas and graduated from Belleville High School in 1955. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Don Templin, on May 27, 1956 at First United Methodist Church in Belleville, Kansas. This union was blessed with three daughters and one son. Marilyn enjoyed being busy. She worked at Stewart Pharmacy, Ortino's Pizzeria, Hebron Sale Barn Cafe and also owned and operated the Hebron Clothesline for 10 years. She spent many hours mowing her yard, gardening, canning, and tending to her flowers. Marilyn loved to cook; she was famous for making fried chicken, macaroni salad and Christmas fudge.

Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hebron, Nebraska all of her life, serving on several committees during this time, as well as teaching Sunday and Bible School. She also was a member of Near-By-Neighbors Club, and Marilyn thoroughly enjoyed her friends at monthly bridge club.

Marilyn spent many hours traveling with her husband, Don, to Thayer County Feeders Association events and tours. They both enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren which established strong relationships with their family members. Friendships were very important to Don and Marilyn. They have many lifelong friends due to their love of people in the Thayer County community.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, step-dad, Harold Fleming, brother Bill Jones, sisters Joanna Gnadt and Danna Scholes, Don's parents, Lee and Gladys Templin, brothers-in-law Allen Fry and Jim Posey, sisters-in-law Roma Posey and Joreen Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Don, of Hebron, Nebraska, daughters Dee Rizek and husband Steve of Gallatin, Missouri, Sandra Page and husband Sam of Chesterfield, Missouri, Chris Heitmann and husband Marlyn of Byron, Nebraska and son Lee Templin and friend Brenda Thomas of Belleville, Kansas. Grandchildren Jacob Rizek and wife Kim of Liberty, Missouri, Melissa Blankenship of Liberty, Missouri, Peyton Page of Chesterfield, Missouri, Paige Turan of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ali Turan and friend Blake Snodgrass of Lincoln, Nebraska, Hayden Loontjer of Byron, Nebraska, Levi Templin and friend Carly Redman of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Briar Templin and wife McKenzie of Hebron, Nebraska, great grandchildren, Sarah Blankenship, Gavin Rizek, Connor Rizek, Landon Rizek, and Laikyn Templin. In-laws Wayne Gnadt of Denver, Colorado, Barbara Jones of Rockledge, Florida, Dick and Sue Templin of Hebron, Nebraska, Norma Fry of Lincoln, Nebraska, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Don and Marilyn had an especially close relationship with Dick and Sue Templin, Don's brother and his wife. They spent countless hours entertaining their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Many people experienced the magic of spending time with the four of them and always walked away with a smile and a funny story.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Hebron, NE at 2 PM. Officiant will be Pastor Mark Baldwin, organist Janet Germer, soloist Jamie Luttrell, singing "On Eagles Wings", congregational hymn "Amazing Grace", casket bearers: Brad Templin, Logan Schardt, Dennis Ribeiro, Tom Kiburz, Tom Posey, Dale Schardt, Jay Gnadt, honorary casket bearers; Jacob Rizek, Melissa Blankenship, Peyton Page, Paige Turan, Ali Turan, Hayden Loontjer, Levi Templin, Briar Templin, visitation will be Friday July 24 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron from 1-7PM, Memorials to Hebron Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and United Methodist Church of Hebron.
