Margaret Ellen Kuhlman, age 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center, in Holdredge, NE. She was born March 5, 1918, the fourth daughter of Harvey Lester and Ida Alice (Crawford) Neal in Smith Center, KS.

She loved the winters in Arizona where she had a passion for golf. She also took pride in reading her Bible daily and sharing God's word with all she met in life. Visiting with friends and family by phone brought her much joy, as she loved her family and keeping in touch about their lives. Margaret also wrote many notes and letters to friends and family as she was concerned, and thankful for many things. She would go door to door to get others out for Bible study, bingo and dominos and was what kept her going at the Assisted Living facility, helping those who needed an extra hand. She made a point to visit with those in the nursing facility who could not get out a lot and would take their hand, give them a hug or just talk with them a bit for comfort. She was a servant of God and always let that shine through her heart and life and now she is waking up in glory and finding peace in her heavenly home! Margaret liked to sing of hum a favorite hymn while riding in the car, one of her favorites was "Blessed Assurance", "This is my story, this is my song, Jesus my Savior all the day long." God has certainly blessed us all with her life and loving us all as she did and in prayers each day for us.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Julius H. Kuhlman.

She is survived by two children, son Rodney (Marcia) Kuhlman of Lonoke, AK and a daughter, Vicky (Terry) Hunt of Bertrand, NE; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Friday, September 4, 2015 at the church.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 4, 2015 at the American Lutheran Church in Smith Center, KS.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Smith Center, KS.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be given to the Margaret Kuhlman Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of the mortuary.
