Martha Bloomer, Age 89

Martha Arlene Bloomer died peacefully on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Parkview Care Center in Osborne, Ks.at the age of 89. Arlene was born on April 27, 1926 to Everest Herman Heinrich and Hester Gladys (Gregory) Hackerott in Alton, Kansas. She was one of 6 girls and one boy born into this family. Arlene graduated as Salutatorian from Alton High School in 1944 and then attended business school in Kansas City, Mo. She worked for Remington Arms in Lakewood, Missouri until the plant closed at the end of WWII. She returned to Osborne and began work for the county engineer when she met Lloyd C. Bloomer, the county attorney. They married on Oct. 23, 1947 in rural Natoma, Ks. To this union was born one son Robert A. Arlene owned Osborne County Abstract and Title Co. and managed the law office of Bloomer, Bloomer & Bloomer and KanFarm, Inc. She was an active member and officer of the Kansas Land Title Association, the Kansas Abstractor's Association and the VFW Auxillary #7743 of Osborne. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gilbert Hackerott, sister Betty Howell, husband Lloyd C. Bloomer and her only son Robert A. Bloomer. She is survived by her daughter -in-law Shelley D.G. Bloomer of Osborne, Ks.; granddaughters Bethany (Jesse) Jacobs of Osborne, Ks., Angela (Tommy) Steven of Goddard, Ks. and Celaine (John) Worden of McPherson, Ks.; six great grandchildren - Parker Steven, Chance Jacobs, Trey Steven, Shelley Worden, Ella Steven and Lainey Worden; four sisters Lezetta (Robert) Hlad of Salina, Ks., Erma (Ron) Westfall of Hutchinson, Ks., Thelma (George) Anderson of Pratt, Ks. and Doris (Bob) Lewis of Garden City, Ks. and many nieces and nephews.
