Raymond Edward Henry Grummert, the son of Arthur and Lydia (Ahrens) Grummert, was born on November 19, 1925 in Smyrna, Nebraska. He passed away on January 31, 2016 at the Christian Homes in Holdrege, Nebraska; at the age of 90 years, 2 months, 12 days.

Raymond was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior. He attended Smyrna grade School and graduated from Superior High School in 1943. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Andreasen on December 5, 1948 at Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with 2 daughters and a son.

He was engaged in farming in both the Deshler area and Superior area which was the family farm, retiring and moving to Holdrege, Nebraska in 2009 to be closer to family. In July of 2014 he entered Christian Homes, where he resided until his death.

Raymond was a member of Spring Creek Square Dance Club, Eagles Club, Salem Lutheran Church and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. His hobbies included wood working and photography. He enjoyed playing cards with the local card club, square dancing and calling. He also loved to do crossword puzzles daily, at which he was amazing. They received the Aksarben 100 year Pioneer Award.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lydia; one brother Dale and an infant granddaughter Tracy Lynn Jacobsen.

He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Jacobsen and husband Carl of Holdrege, Nebraska, Lorraine Glisson and husband Stacy of Plainville, Kansas and son Tim Grummert of Holdrege, Nebraska; sister-in-law Diane Grummert of Canon City, Colorado; special cousin Duane Ahrens and wife, Karla of Torrington, Wyoming; 5 grandchildren, Christie (Jacobsen) Couvillion and husband, Claude of Monee, Illinois, Brenda (Jacobsen) Smith and husband, Nick of Holdrege, Nebraska, Stacy Jr Glisson and wife Rachael of Kansas City, Mo, Joe Glisson and fiancé Haley Shaffer of Russell, Kansas, Deni Glisson and fiance, Terry Sumner of Plainville, Kansas and 9 great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
