Lawrence LaRocque, Age 91

Lawrence Paul LaRocque departed this life on May 4, 2016, at the age of 91 yrs. Lawrence was born July 4, 1924 at the family homestead north of Cawker City. Lawrence was the 5th of six children, including Dorothy, Eugene, Fr. Benedict, Maxine, and Theresa, born to Paul and Anna LaRocque. Lawrence graduated from Athens High School in 1942. In 1946 his father and mother moved to Beloit, leaving Lawrence to take over the farm and cattle. His life was centered around his faith, family, and working the ground, planting for harvest, and raising the cattle. In 1968, Lawrence was united in marriage to Sandra Jane Severance. To this union four children were born: Rene Ann, Paul Lawrence, Stephen James, and Linda Beth. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father Paul, mother Anna, brothers Eugene and Fr. Benedict LaRocque, nephew Dr. Robert LaRocque, niece Carol Heinen, and stepdaughter Jennifer Ann Severance. Left to celebrate his life and many memories are his wife Sandra of the home, stepson Jeffrey Alan Severance of Waterloo, New York; Rene and Bill Morain and grandson Ben of Lawrence, KS; Paul and Lisa LaRocque and granddaughters Jessica, Megan, Ashley, and grandson Christopher of Cawker City, KS; Stephen LaRocque and grandsons Tristan, Collin, and Braedon of Manhattan, KS; Linda and Jeff Kastrup and grandson Dalton and granddaughter Michealla of Cawker City, KS, along with great granddaughters Brandy and Joni Severance, and a host of many friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cawker City. A parish rosary service will be held at 7 PM Friday, May 6 at the Church, and visitation will be from 5 PM until the rosary service begins.
