BELOIT TROJAN TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT RUSSELL RELAYS FRIDAY MAY 6TH

The Beloit Trojan track teams traveled to Russell for the annual Russell Relays on Friday, May 6. This is a very competitive meet with the field made up Beloit, Hoisington, Minneapolis, Phillipsburg, Russell, Scott City, Salina-Sacred Heart, Larned, and TMP.

 

The Trojan boys brought home a total of 20 medals (9 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze) and finished second with 114 points. Scott City won the meet with 114 and Sacred Heart was third with 72.

 

Gold medal winners for Beloit were Colson Reames in the 400m dash in 52.01, the 4X100m relay team of Zach Meier, Colin Budke, Ryan Jackson, and Colson Reames in 44.78, and the 4X400m relay team of Zach Meier, Anthony Nunez, Brendon Mason, and Colson Reames in 3:30.12.

 

Silver medal winners were Hunter Budke in the 110m high hurdles in 15.68, Jace Adams in the 300m hurdles in 41.66, Colin Budke in the long jump in 21’ 2.25”, and the 4X800m relay team of Ryan Jackson, Brendon Mason, Anthony Nunez, and Colson Reames in 8:44.24.

 

Bronze medal winners were Zach Meier in the 400m dash in 53.58, Ryan Jackson in the 800m run in 2:07.66, and Logan Mong in the high jump at 6’0” and the triple jump at 42’5”.

 

The Lady Trojans competed very well, bringing home a total of 26 medals (9 gold, 9 silver, 8 bronze) and the first place plaque with 156 points. Scott City was second with 84 points, and Russell was third with 62 points.

 

Gold medal winners for Beloit were Sydney Johnson in the shot put at 39’11.25” and the discus at 124’10”, Remi Behrends in the triple jump at 36’1”, Kourtni Hubert in the javelin at 128’3”, Blaise Spangler in the pole vault at 10’6”, and the 4X100m relay team of Karissa Winkel, Remi Behrends, Alexis Budke, and Alana Budke in 50.6.

 

The silver medal winners were Remi Behrends in the high jump at 5’2” and the 100m dash in 12.8, MacKenzie VanPelt in the pole vault at 10’6”, Karissa Winkel in the long jump at 16’4.5”, Kourtni Hubert in the shot put at 37’5.75”, and the 4X400m relay team of Trinity Wagner, Karissa Winkel, Paige Hafliger, and Janica Pearce in 4:16.56.

 

Bronze medal winners were Karissa Winkel in the 300m hurdles in 50.28, Alana Budke in the 200m dash in 27.08 and the long jump at 16’1”, Trinity Wagner in the 400m dash in 1:03.66, and the 4X800m relay team of Erin Kelley, Michaela Pingel, Khylie Mihm, and Kalista Hubert in 11:23.02.

 

The next action for the Trojan track teams is the NCAA league meet held in Belleville on Friday, May 13. Field events will start at 3:30pm, running preliminaries at 5:15pm (if necessary), and running finals will begin at 6:15pm.
