Beloit, KS, May 9 - Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems is excited to host a weeklong celebration for employees focused on National Hospital Week. The national theme of Hospital week is" Healthcare from the Heart," a promotional campaign aimed at uniting health care facilities across the country during the May 8-14 celebration.
A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal, it is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope. From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy and optimistic community.
The nation's largest health care event, National Hospital Week dates back to 1921 when it was suggested by a magazine editor who hoped a community wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals. The celebration, launched in Chicago, succeeded in promoting trust and goodwill among members of the public and eventually spread to facilities across the country.
"This is not just a celebration for those who work in the hospital, but for all of us at MCHHS and our community," said Jeremy Armstrong, MCHHS CEO. "This week is to recognize those who offer dedicated and compassionate care to our patients and communities and thank them for everything they do!"
MCHHS will be hosting employee recognition events all week long to show their appreciation for employee dedication to the Beloit hospital throughout National Hospital Week.
Events for employees include:
Monday May 9--Chips and Dip in the North Dining Room
Tuesday May 10--Hot Dogs and Popcorn in the Cafeteria
Wednesday May 11--Ice Cream and Root Beer Floats in the North Dining Room
Thursday May 12--Hamburgers in the Cafeteria
