Peggy Homler, Age 90

Peggy J. Homler, 90 years old, passed away on June 29, 2016 at Parkview Care Center. She was born on July 18, 1925 to Harry and Cora (Earl) Markham in Alton, Kansas. Peg had one brother, Jim.

After Peg graduated from high school, she was a secretary for Dwight Hardman of Alton. She then went on to K-State and got her degree in geology. It was while she was at college, she met Keith Homler, who was returning to college after the war. They got married while he was finishing up his degree in college. Peg worked at the Manhattan library. After Keith graduated, they moved to Osborne and began their family. They had 2 daughters.

Peggy loved to read. She was instrumental in helping build the new library in Osborne. She attended the United Methodist Church and was active in music at the church. She also was a member of PEO, Eastern Star & Upsilon Tau Delta. Peg had many other interests - painting, gardening, bird watching, traveling, to name a few.

Peggy is survived by her daughters: Kathy (Gary) Borror of Eureka, MO; Nancy Homler of Farmington, MN; grandchildren: Clinton Borror, Nancy Borror & her partner John Moenster, Thorin (Jennifer) Nielson, and Morgana Neilson; and 2 great grandchildren. Peg was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jim and husband Keith in 1987.
