Robert Champlin, Age 84

Robert "Bob" C. Champlin, age 84, left this earthly life on Mon, July 18, 2016 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS. He was born on Jan. 10, 1932 in Ames, KS to Robert O. & Mildred L. (Huber) Champlin. Bob grew up in the Jamestown, KS area & graduated from Jamestown High School. After high school, Bob served as a 1st Class Petty Officer in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Roberta Sewart on June 21, 1952 at Concordia, KS & they lived in Scandia, KS until moving to rural Concordia. Bob was a lifelong area resident & operated Champlin Farms. He was a member of the Concordia Wesleyan Church, lifetime member of American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta, Concordia; sons, Robert "Bob" Champlin (Nadine), Sabetha, Robin Champlin (Teresa), Reese Champlin (Gina) & Lance Champlin (Linda) all of Concordia; brothers, Dr. Bruce Champlin (Margie), Surprise, AZ, Ron Champlin (Judy), Concordia & Keith Christensen (Jane), Salina & step-brother, Damon Christensen (Laura), Concordia; grandchildren & great grandchildren; Heidi Kutscher (Tracy) & Kylee & Kolby Kutscher; Jeffrey Champlin (Jamie) & Charlotte & William Champlin; Jace Champlin (Megan) & Riley & McKenzie Chapmlin; Derek Champlin (Lacey); Dana Sandmann (Derek) & Hayden & Chase Sandmann; Kara Champlin & Wyatt Widen; Paige Mortimer (Ryan); Shane Champlin; Trae & Bailey Champlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Champlin (Pauline) & Mildred Christensen (Chris); daughter, Pamela; grandson, Joshua; sister, Ivona Kemp & step-brother, Loren Christensen.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thurs., July 21, 2016 at Concordia Wesleyan Church with Rev. David Redmond & Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588 & the U.S. Navy will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home from 10 am to 9 pm, Wed., July 20, 2016 with family greeting friends from 6-8 pm. The family suggests memorials to Concordia Wesleyan Church or the Family's Choice in care of the funeral home.
