Larry Duane Biltoft of Ruskin, NE the son of Oscar and Wanda (Lowery) Biltoft was born September 8, 1939 in Deshler, NE. He departed this life Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 77 years. Larry grew up in the Oak area attending school in rural Oak, NE and the Nelson High School. He was baptized and confirmed August 28, 1960 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ruskin, NE. Larry married Iona Mussmann December 6, 1959 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ruskin, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children. He is a past member of the Ruskin Lions Club, Ruskin Volunteer Fire Department, and held various offices at St. Mark Church. Larry cared for others, as evident in his willingness to donate blood cells for his brother, Gerald, during his battle with cancer. He was also a dedicated donor for the American Red Cross. Larry worked at elevators in Ruskin and Nelson, and also Peterson Oil. He and Iona opened K & S Food Center in Ruskin in 1975 until 2002. Larry also worked for Reinke Manufacturing in Deshler and 81 Express in Hebron before retiring. In years past, he looked forward to his yearly hunting trips with relatives to Chadron, NE. He was a faithful patron of the Broken Spoke in Ruskin and enjoyed visiting friends while catching up on the latest news. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one still born child and one brother Gerald Biltoft.

He is survived by his wife Iona of Ruskin, two daughters; Kelly Smith and husband Scott of Davenport, NE and Sharon Bell and husband Greg of Deshler, NE, one son Shawn and wife Tara of Brainard, NE grandchildren: Stacy (Andy) Thompson Palmer, NE, Danielle Smith of Deshler, NE, Kale Smith of Davenport, NE, Heather (Josh) Lichtenstein, Lincoln City, OR, Rylie, Austin, and Carson Biltoft Brainard, NE, step grandchildren: Shannon Nauslar, Jeremy and Justin Bell, great-grandchildren: Preston, Jason, and Audrey Thompson; Haylyn and Jaydin Mackey, step great-granchildren: Lexy, Zander, Darrian Hayes, Baily, Sadye, and Bradyn Bell, sisters: Nola (James) McCartney Odell, NE; Connie Nickel St. Paul, NE; Linda (Gilbert) Poppe St. Paul NE; Shirley (Richard) Wegener Dewey, AZ, sister in law: Carol (Steve) Yost Clay Center, NE, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ruskin, NE at 10:30 AM. Officiant will be Reverend Jose Flores, organist Kathy Kniep, soloist Matt Vieselmeyer with recorded "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)", congregational hymns "Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock Of Ages", visitation will be Friday, November 18 from 1pm to 7pm at Kroll Funeral Home in Deshler, NE, casket bearers Tim Lowery, Todd Biltoft, Bryan Poppe, Michael Schroeder, Rodney Gleason, and Bruce Freitag, honorary casket bearers grandchildren, memorials to St. Mark Lutheran Church and Ruskin Volunteer Fire Department. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery in Ruskin, NE. Kroll Funeral Home of Deshler, NE is in charge of arrangements.
