Raymond Bachand, Age 93

Raymond W. Bachand, age 93, left this earthly life on Wed., Nov. 1, 2017 at his residence in Rural Clyde, KS. He was born August 16, 1924 on the family farm in Cloud County, KS to Paul O. & Laurette M. (Dandurand) Bachand. Raymond attended Rural Dist. 29 School and was a lifelong area farmer and rancher. He married Eleanor Boden on April 21, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph, KS, celebrating 70 years of marriage this past April. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde & a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Raymond was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of VFW Post #7515, Clyde and Moose Lodge #1428, Concordia.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, Clyde; daughter, Joan Wiesner (Jerry), Overland Park; sons, Lonnie Bachand (Jean), Concordia, Gary Bachand (Debbie), Clyde & James Bachand (Alice), Clyde; 9 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fr. Louis & Larry Bachand & sisters, Pauline Vishnefske & Elaine Budke.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am, Sat., Nov. 4, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, KS with Fr. Steven Heina officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 from 1-5 pm at Chaput Mortuary and after 6 pm at the church. A vigil service will be at 7 pm, Friday at the church. The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
