Karen Kay Fogo was born April 27, 1941 in Jewell County, Kansas. She passed away at the age of 76 years, on January 7, 2018, at the Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas. She was the first of five children born to James Deane and Orpha (Broyles) Fogo Fallis. Much of her childhood was spent on their farm north of Mankato. After the passing of her father, she lived in Mankato, with her mother. Due to her disability, her schooling was very limited. Karen had two dogs, Pixie and Buckwheat. They gave her much joy and love. Her lap was their favorite place. Her brothers loved to tease her but knew payback was forth coming. Karen attended church at Olive Hill, when she could. In 1978, she went into Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia, Kansas. Karen lived there right at 40 years. During this time she worked at OCCK for 30 years. She made many friends there and at Mount Joseph. Karen made herself the official greeter and door keeper at Mount Joseph. She always knew what was going on. One of her greatest joys was her trips to Colorado with her brother Rick. He also took her on her first airplane ride to Disneyland in California.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brother - Terry, and sister-in-law - Debbie Fogo (wife of George Fogo). She is survived by her brothers - Rickey and wife- Barbara Fogo of Greeley, Colorado; George Fogo of Panama City Beach, Florida; and John and wife - Donna Fogo of Clay Center, Nebraska; sister-in-law - Pamela Fogo (wife of Terry), Amarillo, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. As her niece, Josie Fogo, said, "She had such an undeniable strength." She will be greatly missed. Love you Kay!!!
