Carl Galen Flagle, 80

Carl Galen Flagle of Davenport, NE the son of Galen Edwin and Amanda Delma (Paulson) Flagle was born September 15, 1938 in Hebron, NE. He departed this life Monday, April 22, 2019 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 80 years.

He attended school in Carleton, NE and Hebron High School.

He was baptized and confirmed as an adult in 1958 at Zion Lutheran Church in Carleton by Rev. Obermeyer.

Carl married Darlene Rose Heinrichs June 21, 1959 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Davenport, NE. This union was blessed with two children.
After their marriage the couple lived in Nichols, Iowa, and Hastings, NE before moving to Davenport in 1961, where he began his employment with Superior-Deshler Company for 41 years until his retirement March of 2002.
Carl was a person of many God given talents especially mechanics. He worked on lawn mowers, small engines in his shop at home keeping busy after his retirement. He enjoyed visiting with people and was always glad when someone would stop by his shop.
He was a member of the Davenport Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years, St Peter Lutheran Church, Nebraska Cushman Club, and The Cushman Club of America.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman at Lovewell Lake and cooking with his dutch oven but his true interest was in Cushman Scooters. He restored many scooters and antique engines, helping with the Old Trusty Show in Clay Center for 26 years.
He loved spending time with his family especially his grandaughter Hilary.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Don Heinrichs.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of almost 60 years from Davenport, son Robert of Hastings, NE and daughter Marcia Thompson and husband Duane of Doniphan, NE granddaughter Hilary Michalski and husband Warren of Hastings, sister-in-law Dixie Heinrichs of Davenport, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Davenport, NE at 10:30 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Greg Schaffer, organist Karen Haake, congregational hymns "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today", special music by the Heinrichs Family singing "Amazing Grace/My Chains are Gone", visitation will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Kroll Funeral Home in Desher, NE 2-7 PM. No visitation at the church before the service. Casket bearers; Glen Maschmann, Tim Howard, Michael Burger, Caleb Maschmann, Josiah Burger and Joshua Howard. Memorial in care of the family. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Davenport, NE. Kroll Funeral Home of Deshler, NE is in charge of arrangements.
