Jim Harlow - February 12, 1952 - April 29, 2019

Jim Allen Harlow was born on February 12, 1952 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Wendell and Leta Geering Harlow. He died unexpectedly on Monday, April 29, 2019 at his home in Barnard, Kansas at the age of 67.

Jim spent most of his lifetime in the Barnard area. He graduated from Lincoln High School, and later from Ft. Hays State University. Following graduation, he worked for PCA for the Barnard Bank before becoming a farmer and cattleman full-time.

He was very active in the Barnard community, where he was a member of the Barnard Lions Club and Fire Department for more than 40 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Barnard United Methodist Church.

Jim enjoyed following local sports, and had a great love of his animals, especially his dog, Gunner.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Jessie Harlow and friend Grant Schroeder of Barnard; son, Terry and his wife Lynette of Lenexa; his grandson, Luke, and a future granddaughter; his brother, John and his wife Jan of Hutchinson; his former wife and friend, Betty; one niece; one nephew; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, May 3 at the Barnard United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM with family present from 6-7 PM Thursday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Barnard Park or Barnard Lions Club Floor Fund.
