2012 8-Man All-Star D1 East Team

Bo Savage, Burden-Central, QB - Bo Savage, Winfield, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Central Burden High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected All League in 2009, 2010 and 2011; All District, 2009, 2010, and 2011; District MVP, 2010 and 2011; All State Honorable Mention, 2009; All State, 2010 and 2011. He holds the National/State record for most touchdown passes in a season, 52; State most TD passes in a career, 143; Most passing yards, national record and most passing TD's in one game, 9.
Central Burden was district champs in 2009, 2010, and 2011; and bi-district champs in 2010 and 2011.
Activities outside school include finalist for KPreps Kansas Player of the Year award "Gettin' Busy Living Award". He enjoys working on classic cars and all sports.
School honors include being named Academic All League.
Bo's parents are Jeff and Holly Savage, Winfield and plans to attend McPherson college, study car restoration and play football.

Collin Kile, Madison-Hamilton, QB - Collin Kile, Madison, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Madison High School.
Football statistics and accomplishments include being named Honorable Mention All State Quarterback in 2010. In 2012 he was named Honorable Mention Al State Quarterback, All Area Defensive End, 1st Team LCL Quarterback, and KPREPS 1st Team All State Defensive End.
Madison was Sub-State Runnerup in and LCL champs in 2008 with 11-1 record; Bi-District RUnner-UP in 2009 with an 8-2 season' Undefeated State Champion and LCL champions in both 2010 and 2011 with a 13-0 record.
Collin is a 3 year letterman in basketball, and a member of the 4x100 relay team at the state track meet.
He is a member of the United Methodist Youth Group, took a Mission trip to a homeless shuttler in Oklahoma City, participated in several local food drives and was a Vacation Bible School volunteer.
Hobbies and interest include hunting, playing video games, spending with family and friends. He was a member of Scholars bowl and an honor student at Madison High School.
His parents are Greg and Lisa Kile of Madison and plans to attend Emporia State University and play football.

Jason Drouillard, Blue Valley, QB - Jason Drouillard, Olsburg, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Blue Valley Randolph High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected K-Man/McDonald's Student Athlete of the Week, Flint Hills Player of the Week, 2nd Team All-Twin Valley, 1st Team All Flint Hills and Honorable Mention All State Division II. Jason passed for 1154 ids and rushed for 900 yards.
In other sports Jason was chosen 2nd team All Twin Valley in basketball. He is a member of FCA, placed third in the state in Forensics, and was the student body president.
Jason's parents are James and Pattie Drouillard, Olsburg and plans to attend college and become a high school coach.

Colton Witte, Udall, RB - Colton Witte, Winfield, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Udall High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include 2010: passing 2:4, rushing 781 ids, receiving 195 yds., tackles 62; 2011: passing 10:14, rushing 1,738 yds, receiving 159 yds, tackles 199. He was selected all league running back and linebacker, all-state honorable mention running back and linebacker.
Udall reached the state playoffs in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
In other sports, Colton was selected all league outfielder in baseball, all league basketball in 2010 and 2011 and was a state track qualifier.
Hobbies and interests include basketball, track and baseball. School activities and honors include FBLA, FCCLA, NHS, SADD, Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Colton is the son of Steve and Jan Witte, Winfield and plans to attend Emporia State University.

Miles Thomas, Downs-Lakeside, RB - Miles Thomas, Downs, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Lakeside High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include lettering all four years; making District 2 years straight, 1st team runningback and linebacker; all state linebacker in 2011; K-Preps 8 man D-I Defensive Player of the Year.
Lakeside was undefeated in the league in 2011 and was sub-state champion.
In other sports, Miles lettered 4 years in basketball and 4 years in track. Lakeside made it to sub-state 2 years in basketball, was 1st team all league 2 years to state in the 4x100 with track and holds the record for the long jump and triple jump. He placed 1st in 198 class in 2011 and tied the state record in total lift.
Miles is a member of the Downs United Methodist Church and Youth Fellowship; Blue Grey Combines St. Joseph, MO and San Francisco, CA; B/G Super Combine Canton, OH; B/G All sTar Classic Game in Tampa, FL with the team winning; NUC Denver, CO: NUC Elite 100 Indianapolis, In-NUC top 15 Development Camp.
Hobbies and interests include hunting, listening to music, hanging out with friends, playing video games and weight lifting.

Miles is the son of Dallason and Dawn Thomas, Downs and plans to a tend Butler Community College and play football.

Brandon Draper, Wakefield, RB - Brandon Draper, Milford, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Wakefield High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being named McDonalds Player of the Week, lettering four years and selected All League Runningback.
Accomplishments in other sports include lettering 3 years in basketball and power lifting. Activities and honors outside school include weight lifting, attending church and youth group , 2nd place in the 156 weight division for powerlifting in 2010 and 2011.
He enjoys working on cards, playing with his siblings and watching sports.
Honors and activities in school include vice president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Renaissance member, 2 year football captain and 1 year basketball captain.
Brandon is the son of Bill and Naomi Draper, Milford and plans to attend college and study fire science.

Activities and honors outside school include volunteer worker for Red Cross Blood Drives, Beta Sigma Phi's Christmas Angel Tree. He managed and operated a yard and landscaping serving in the summers of 2010 and 2011 and is a member of the Summer Youth Golf League.
Hobbies and interests include arranging computer music, playing guitar, rock band and other video games. He collects Elvis Presley memorabilia and enjoys hunting and golf.

Kaleb Stroud, Moran-Marmaton Valley, OL - Kaleb Stroud, Moran, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Marmaton Valley High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected TRL 1st Team Kicker and Honorable Mention Topeka Capital and Wichita Eagle in 2011. Marmaton Valley was TRL Champs, District Champs, Bi-District Champs and Regional Runner up in 2011.
Kaleb was a part of the 2010 league champion track team and enjoys hunting, fishing, trapping, mudding and shooting guns. He has been an FFA officers for 2 years.
His parents are Rob and Angela Stroud, Moran and plans to attend North Central Kansas Technical College.

Ty Larson, White City, OL - Ty Larson, Council Grove, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of White City High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected All Wheat State League in 2010 and 2011; Varsity letter, 4 years; Team Defensive MVP, 2010 and 2011. Career statistics include scoring 34 points and 240 tackles.
White City was Wheat State League co-champs in 2011.
Ty lettered in basketball in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Activities outside school include Kansas High School Rodeo State Finalist 4 years in calf roping and team roping. He is a member of UMYF.
Activities and honors in school include student government 2 years, National Honor Society and weight club 4 years.

Alex Clark, Downs-Lakeside, OL - Alex Clark, Glen Elder, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Lakeside High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected All DIstrict Offensive Guard in 2010 and 2011. Lakeside was District Champs in 2010 with a 8-2 record and District, Bi-District and Regional Champs in 2011 with a 11-1 record.
Alex enjoys hanging out with friends and golfing and has been an honor student all four years of high school.
His parents are Lori and Wayne Augustine, Glen Elder and Arnold Clark and plans to attend Kansas University and joined the United States Marine Corps.

Levi Flemming, Rock Hills, OL - Levi Fleming, Formoso, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Rock Hills High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being named All District First Team Offense, 2010 and 2011; All District First Team, 2011; All District Second Team Offense, 2010; lettering 3 years, co-captain 3 years with 130 tackles. Rock Hills reached the state playoffs in 2009 and 2011.
In other sports Levi was a member of the weightlifting team 800 pound Club; medalist State 8-Man I Powerlifting Meet; Medalist, Trego Powerlifting meet; lettered in track and field; and was the 2011 Wendy's High School Heisman School Winner.

His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected Wheat State League 1st Team All League 2011; Honorable Mention District #6, 2010; and All League HM Offensive Line 2009.
Luke lettered four years in basketball and loves spending time with friends, hunting fishing and cattle ranching.
His parents are Mark and Gwyn Schreeder, Wakefield attend college and study ranch management.

Thadd Barker, Lebo, TE - Thadd Barker, Lebo, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Lebo High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include Honorable Mention All State Right End 2010 and 2011; Honorable Mention State LInebacker, 2009 and 2010; 1st Team All Area Tight End 2010 and 2011; 1st Team All League Tight End 2010 and 2011.
Lebo was League Champions in 2009 and 2010; District Champions in 2009 and 2010; District Runner up in 2010 and 2011; Sub-State runner up in 2011 and league runner up in 2010 and 2011.

Ky Biddle, Burden-Central, WR - Ky BIddle, Atlanta, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Central of Burden High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being named All LEague Honorable Mention Defensive Back and All District Honorable Mention Defensive Back in 2008; All District 1st Team runningback , All District 2nd Team defensive back, all league honorable mention runningback, All State Honorable Mention Wide Receiver in 2009; All-State 1st team wide receiver, all district 1st team WR, DB, KR, PR, and all league 1st team WR/DB in 2010; All STate 1st Team WR, All League 1st team WR/DB, all District 1st Team WR/FB,LB/P/KR in 2011.
Central of Burden were district champs in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
In other sports Ky was a 3 time Regional Wrestling Champ, 3 time state placer, 3rd in 2009, 3rd in 2010 and 2nd in 2011. He had over 100 wins in his wrestling area. Ky was All League catcher in baseball in 2009 and 2010 and selected as all league shortstop in 2011.
Hobbies and interests include deer hunting, coon hunting hanging out with friends and hanging out with his girlfriend. He also likes spending time with his beagle, Kyzer.
Honors and activities in school include FFA 4 years, Letterman's Club 4 years, Class vice president and maintaining a 3.5 GPA.
Ky's parents are Scott and Jenny Biddle, Atlanta and plans to attend Hutchinson Junior College, play football and major in agriculture.

Blake Davies, Lebo, LB - Blake Davies, Lebo, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Lebo High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being selected All League 1st Team in 2009, 2010 and 2011; All Area 1st Team in 2009, 2010 and 2011; and All State 1st Team in 2010 and 2011.
Lebo reached the state playoffs in 2009, with a 9-1 record. They were District Champions defeating Madison. In 2010 they reached the State playoffs with a 10-2 record and were Bi-District Champs, and Regional Champs. In 2011 they reached the state playoffs with an 8-2 record.
Blake was a member of the 4x8 relay team that went to the state track meet in 2010 and 2011. He is a member of the Lebo Methodist Church and enjoys hauling hay.
Blake is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council and Honor Roll.
HIs parents are Jim and Angela Davies and plans to attend Ottawa University, major in business and play football.

Bubba Smith, Madison-Hamilton, LB - Wyatt (Bubba) Smith, Hamilton, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Hamilton/Madison High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being a starter on the football team for 4 years, serving as co-captain his senior year. In 2008 he was selected Honorable Mention Offense Grasslands and League; 2009, 2nd teem Defensive Grasslands and League; 2010, 1st Team Offense League and Grasslands, All Area 2nd Team SED, HOnorable Mention All STate Offense; 2011, 1st Team Defense-Grasslands, League, All Area, 1st Team District, 1st Team SEK, All STate Defense Wichita Eagle, 1st Team All State Topeka Capital, 1st Team All State Kpreps.
In 2008 the team had an 11-1 record, league Champions, District Champions, Regional Champs and Sub-State runner up; 2009: 8-2 record, League Runner-up, District Runner-up, Bi-District Runner-up; 2010: 13-0 record, League Champs, District Champs, Bi-District Champs, Regional CHamps, Sub-State Champs and State Champs.
Bubba has been a three year letterman in basketball and a four year letterman in track.
He attends United Methodist Church Youth Group in Madison and enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, playing football and working on a ranch.
Activities and honors in school include VicePresident of Stuco junior year, President of Stuco senior year, President Academic Award Junior Year, Maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher all four years of high school.
Bubba's parents are Randy and Sheila Smith, Hamilton and plans to attend Emporia State University, major in criminal justice and play football.

Brett Fahey, Clifton-Clyde, LB - Brett Fahey, Clifton, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Clifton/Clyde High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include 204 career tackles; ranked 4th for Clifton-Clyde all times tackles; Twin Valley 1st Team All League Linebacker; 2nd Team All-District Linebacker; 2011 Topeka Capital All Class Honorable Mention Linebacker; 2011 All-Eagle Defensive Back/Linebacker; 2010, 2011 All-Eagle MVP.
Clifton-Clyde was a state qualifier in 2008, 2009 and 2010; had 10 win seasons in 2008 and 2009; district champs in 2008 and 2009; bi-district champs in 2008 and 2009; regional champs in 2008 and 2009; sub-state runner up in 2009; sub-state champions and state runner up in 2008.
In other sports Brett was a member of the Legion AA baseball team that went to state. He enjoys hunting, fishing and working on vehicles.
Activities and honors in school include Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council and Class President.
Brett is the son of Eddie and Lisa Fahey, Clifton and plans to attend Manhattan Area Technical College and study automotive technology.

Willie Westhoff, St. Paul, DB - William (Willie) Westhoff, St. Paul, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of St. Paul High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include being named Honorable Mention All STate Wichita and Topeka 2011; 1st team defensive back TRL 2011; stats include 20 receptions for 447 yds and 8 TD's; 2 interceptions; 54 tackles and 4 fumble recoveries.
St. Paul reached the 2nd round of the playoffs in 2008 and 1st round in 2010.
Honors and accomplishments in other sports include being selected 1st team All League basketball and for the St. Paul Early Season tournament team. He enjoys sports, fishing and hunting.
Activities and honors in school include Honor Roll and Homecoming King (basketball).
Willie is the son of Scott Westhoff and Jennifer Emert and plans to attend college.

Austin Case, Marais des Cygnes Valley, DB - Austin Case, Quenemo, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Marais des Cygnes Valley High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include 194 carries for 1634 yds, and 26 TDs; 32 receptions for 436 yds, 6 TDs; 2 completions in 5 attempts for 1 TD and 1 INT; All State honorable mention 2010 and 2011; All-County 1st Team, 2011; All County 2nd Team, 2010; All League 2010 and 2012.
Austin was a 2010 state track participant and is a member of the Pomona Assembly of God Church. He enjoys video games, playing ball, and hanging out with friends.
Activities and honors in school include honor roll, FBLA and stuco.
He is the son of Bo and Linda McGowin, Quenemo and plans to attend college and play football.

Alex Smith, Rock Hills, DB - Alexander Smith, Mankato, has been selected to play on the East squad. He is a 2012 graduate of Rock Hills High School.
His football statistics and accomplishments include lettering 4 years; named NCKS sports.com Athlete of the Week; 1st Team All District RB, DB, KR; Hastings Tribune All-Tribland First Team. He holds school records in rushing yards in a game, 388; rushing TD's in a game, 6; rushing yards in a season, 1414; and punt return average. Career totals include: rushing TD's, 27; rushing yds, 2030; receiving TDs, 3; receiving yds, 235; tackles 154, interceptions 4, fumble recoveries 4 and points scored 216.
Rock Hills was Pike Trail League runner up and district runner up in 2009; Pike Trail league runner up in 2010; and district runner up and bi district runner up in 2011.
Accomplishments in other sports include lettering in basketball 1 year; track and field 4 yrs, qualifying for the state track meet and holding the school record in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.
Activities and honors outside school include Lutheran Youth Group and volunteer referee at youth tournaments. He enjoys playing the guitar, basketball, track, hanging out with friends and camping.
School honors and activities include Student Council vice president, class president, NHS president, Rock Hills weightlifting team, National Honor Society, band and Future Business Leaders.
He is the son of Max and Stacy Smith, Mankato and plans to attend Kansas State University and major in biology and orthopedic surgery.

Coaches:
Sam Meyers, Rock Hills - Sam Meyers graduated from Superior High School in Superior NE in 1992.  He attended Hastings College, played football and was named outstanding newcomer in 1992 and All Conference in 1995.  He graduated with a bachelors degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. Sam received his Master's Degree in Education Leadership from Doane College. 
Sam currently  teaches social studies at Rock Hills High School. He is head football coach, head track coach and athletic director.  He formerly coached at Superior High School where he was defensive coordinator, and Hastings college as wide recievers coach, and is currently at Rock Hills as head coach for the 8th year with a record of 42-30. 
He and wife Carie have been married for 11 years and have 3 children, Eve 9, Grant 7, and Nathaniel 5.

Curt Christians, Lakeside - Curt Christians was born and raised in Sibley, Iowa. He attended high school at Walnut Grove, Minnesota and received a BS from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia. Curt received his teacher's certificate from Kansas Wesleyan in Salina.
Curt has been coaching and teaching at Lakeside High School in Downs for the past five years.
The football team has been District Champions the past two season, with an 11-1 record in 2011 and was sub-state runner up to Madison.
He is an assistant basketball and track coach.
Curt married Judy and they have six children.

Troy McAruthur, Lebo - Troy McArthur, Lebo Wolves head football coach, graduated high school from Jefferson West in Meriden, KS in 1998. He attended Washburn University & played football, graduating in 2003.
After college he accepted a teaching and coaching position at Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville. He has been coaching football for 10 years. He has also coached baseball and basketball. Troy  accepted the head coaching position for the Lebo Wolves football team this past season. 
Other coaching responsibilities include head junior high football, head junior high basketball, and also the assistant high school basketball coach for the Wolves. He teaches various social studies courses and weights.
Troy married Brandee in 2006 and they have been blessed with three daughters. Brielle is the oldest and in September of 2010 twin daughters Taylee & Teegan were born.
