Margaret Jean Williams

Margaret Jean Williams, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Keith) Peterson, was born on December 25, 1922 in Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on September 24, 2012 at Green Valley, Arizona at the age of 89 years, 8 months, 30 days.

Margaret graduated from Nelson High School in 1940 and then attended Hastings College. She was an employee of Dutton-Lainson. She married Lt. Hobart O. Williams July 6, 1944, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She worked for StoreKraft in Beatrice, Nebraska, while Lt. Williams was serving in the 8th Air Force in Europe.

After relocating to Casper, Wyoming, Mrs. Williams taught school and later opened an antique store. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church serving as Sunday school teacher, Skipper of the Mariners Club, Superintendent of the Junior High Program, and Director of the Bible School. She was later in partnership with her husband in their antique businesses in both the Washington, D.C. area and Arizona.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hobie on September 21, 2007, her sister, Caren Mae Hummel, and two brothers, Wallace E. Peterson and Harlan Dale Peterson, and one grandson, Cooper Brethour.

She is survived by her three daughters: Kathryn Brethour of Nelson, Nebraska; Linda Sweeney of Casper, Wyoming; and Paula Williams of Green Valley, Arizona. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren: Richard Brethour of Tempe, Arizona; Michael Brethour of Armonk New York; Brian Sweeney of Douglas, Wyoming; and Michelle Robinson of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
