WorkWell Beloit!
Our first WorkWell Beloit meeting is coming up on November 14th from 11:30am-1pm in the Wellness Center!
As part of our WorkWellKS grant, it is suggested that we meet on a regular basis (quarterly or monthly) to discuss what is working in your facility in terms of encouraging employees to be healthy.  Some facilities offer flexible lunch hours, offer a discount plan to the gym, provide water or tea to employees at no charge, etc.  I was just at a conference where part of one presenter's presentation focused on the fact that the health of the American workforce is going to be our greatest opposition in the competition in the global market...that the unhealthiness of Americans will be our downfall.  That's scary.  So what can we do to reverse that?
Due to responses to Worksite Wellness questions asked during a survey of our area, we've invited Brenda Bandy with The Business Case for Breastfeeding to come to Beloit to talk with us to kick off these meetings.  She will not be judging us or our facilities, but coming to educate us on what we, by law, need to offer our employees.  She can not turn any of us in for not providing what is necessary...only a nursing mother that is being neglected can do that.  She also will give you information on grants available.
We will be providing lunch so please RSVP by November 2nd so we have enough food.
Human Resources recertification credits are available for those of you who need them.  Please pass the word on to the person in your facility that would be most interested in coming.

Sponsoring a Membership Appreciation delivery is a great way to share your company name with member businesses annually. Over the course of the year, the Chamber will make a special delivery, such as a box of cookies, to our local membership. These include a label with a list of the sponsors for the year. As a sponsor, your name will appear larger and bolder than the other sponsors for an entire month. If you choose, you or your company representatives can assist in the delivery that month.
