FEATURE BUSINESS OF THE MONTH
Stop by the Chamber office to check out Zachary's Ace Hardware, Feature Business of the Month.
Beloit's Ace Hardware was one of the very first Ace Hardware's in the state of Kansas, established by Francis Fitzgerald. On September 1, 1983 Bill and Valissa Zachary became the ambitious 2nd owners of this longtime successful business. Many customers remember my dad Bill as the vibrant personality and face of Beloit's Ace for nearly 30 years. He absolutely loved his Ace store and enjoyed each and every customer he served. His extreme dedication to Zachary's Ace Hardware is one of the main reasons for the success of the business. While my dad struggled to retire from Ace and follow his dream of international travel, he knew if he wanted to do it, now was the time. On June 1, 2011 Valissa became the sole owner of the business. I can't tell you how privileged my dad felt to have the customers that he did and the outpouring support that he experienced from our community at his retirement party was nearly overwhelming for him. Even after his retirement and move to Tulsa, you could still find Dad back in the store from time to time helping his customers and last Christmas was no exception. He would put on his Ace shirt with pride and filter through the aisles with his unforgettable smile asking if the customers needed any help. If it wasn't for his tragic passing on January 16, 2012, I am certain you would have seen him many, many times in the store helping his customers during his Beloit trips. While your local Ace has changed hands only one time, our mission never has. Zachary's Ace Hardware is committed to serving our customers, 7 days a week, with the motto of "Helping you is the most important thing I have to do today!" We pride ourselves in providing our patrons with the absolute best customer service, when we say our customers are #1, we mean it! In fact, for the sixth consecutive year, Ace has been awarded the "Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Home Improvement Retail Stores" from JD Power and Associates. When you walk into Zachary's Ace Hardware, you can expect to have one of our 13 professional, friendly and knowledgeable associates approach you with a warm smile eager to help you fulfill your list from start to finish. Luke Long, the store manager says, "We are fortunate to have unmatched customer service, with many of our employees having specialized knowledge in multiple fields. After the move to our new store in March of 2008, we have thousands of new items available on a daily basis and tens of thousands available in a week or less. With the combination of the specialized knowledge, skills, abilities and massive inventory that Zachary's Ace Hardware has to offer--7 days a week-we want to thank our customers for allowing us to prove to them why we should be their first and only stop"! Luke is a vital member and leader of Zachary's Ace Hardware's current and future success. He brings to Ace a great knowledge of many aspects of the business and improves the store with his dedication, innovation and enthusiasm for the future of Beloit and Zachary's Ace Hardware.
