Orville F. Nondorf

Orville Floyd Nondorf, the son of Charles Floyd Nondorf and Edith Seville (Fike) Nondorf, was born September 12, 1921 at Rydal, KS and passed away on November 6, 2012 at the Republic County Hospital at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 24 days.
Orville received his education at the #9 Grade School at Rydal, and graduated from Scandia High School. He also attended Bethany College at Lindsborg, KS.
Orville worked at the Carl Hammer Grocery in Scandia for five years, and later was the assistant manager at J.C. Penney in Belleville for two years. He then was the manager of the Clover Farm Grocery in Belleville for nine years. Orville became the owner and operator of Nondorfs Grocery at Courtland, KS which he operated along with his wife, Gloria for 47 years until their retirement.
On November 2, 1941, he was united in marriage to Gloria Peterka and to this union was born: Verlee, Kenneth, Vernice, and Burton. The couple made their home in Courtland, KS for many years, until moving to Belleville in recent years.
Orville was a member of the United Methodist Church of Courtland, KS, Courtland Masonic Lodge # 211, Order of the Eastern Star #115, and the Czech Club Chapter 3, Republic County. He also was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Edith Nondorf, infant son: Kenneth Nondorf, brothers: Lawrence Nondorf and Irvin Nondorf; sisters: Mildred Boling and Vivian Sjolander, Flossie Miles, and grandparents: Charles and Viola Nondorf.
Orville is survived by his wife Gloria Nondorf of Belleville, KS, two daughters: Verlee Russell of Beloit, KS and Vernice Nondorf of Belleville, KS; one son Burton Nondorf of Concordia, KS; two grandsons: Charles Nondorf of Concordia, KS and Eric (Melva) Nondorf of Belleville, KS; three granddaughters: Staci (Todd) Wynn of Loveland, CO and Melisa (Dan) Martin of Ft. Collins, CO and Jennifer (Scott) Ochwat of Ft. Collins, CO; Eleven Great Grandchildren: Jessica Martin, Kyle (Molly) Martin, Chelsey Martin, Landon Ochwat, Collin Ochwat, Zachary Wynn, Ashley Wynn, Tyler Nondorf, Christian Nondorf, Amy Balaun, and Ann Levendofsky; Two great great grandchildren: Blair Martin and Clayton Martin; 8 nieces, 5 nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation was selected and memorial services will be held at Two PM, Tuesday,
November 13, 2012 at the Courtland United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathy Aeillo, officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Courtland Cemetery, Courtland, KS with Masonic Graveside Rites by Courtland Masonic Lodge #211 of Courtland, KS.
Friends sign the register book from One PM until Eight PM on Monday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from Five PM until Seven PM on Monday
