The Chamber along with Beloit Auto & Truck Plaza, 3133 US Hwy 24, will be hosting a Chamber Coffee on Friday, November 9th from 9am-10:30am. Stop by for a cup of coffee and enjoy networking with good friends and have fun times.
Beloit Auto & Truck Plaza
Ford will be sponsoring a fund raiser at Beloit Auto & Truck Plaza on November 15th. The event is called Go Further With Ford. It's not only a fund raiser but an opportunity for them to showcase the all new Ford Fusion. In doing so, Ford has asked BATP to choose a charitable organization to have funds donated to and Pat Kelley chose the local Rotary club. First of all, you can pre-register at http://www.gofurtherwithfordnight.com/. Ford suggests that the event be held in the evening, but it will be going on all day long Nov. 15th from 8am -6pm. Once you register, you come in on the 15th of November and set at a computer and watch a quick 30 second mock American Idol audition. A webcam will be set up to record your reaction and critique of the audition. That critique will then be uploaded to Ford who will pick two people in our Kansas City region two weeks following the event to be flown to LA, with air travel for 2, one room for two nights at a deluxe hotel near American Idol/CBS Television City, one spa package at the selected hotel, premium ground transportation, and $400 spending cash.
In addition to the prize package, for every completed registration including webcam taping, for will donate $10.00 to Rotary up to $500 and Pat Kelley will match each donation for a total of $1,000. There is no need to test drive, there is no need to purchase, just simply pre-register and show up the day of and donate a little of your time and your pretty face to the webcam. Come on out on the 15th of November and support your local Rotary club.

Beloit's Ace Hardware was one of the very first Ace Hardware's in the state of Kansas, established by Francis Fitzgerald. On September 1, 1983 Bill and Valissa Zachary became the ambitious 2nd owners of this longtime successful business. Mitchell County PowerUps
The Mitchell County PowerUps will be meeting at The China House in Beloit on Monday, November 12 at 7 pm for a meal and a short meeting. A "PowerUp" is someone between the ages of 21 and 39 and who live in a rural area by choice. If you fit this description and would like to meet others like you, please plan on attending!
Dental Designs of Solomon Valley, P.A.
Dental Designs of Solomon Valley, P.A. will be hosting an open house from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20th to celebrate the expansion of the dental practice. Two new operatories of equipment have been added to provide the needed additional treatment rooms for Dr. Milt Holloway and Dr. Jetta Holloway-Jankowski. The practice will also be welcoming another hygienist to the practice in December. She is originally from Tipton, KS and is returning to the area with her husband and young daughter.

Copier for Sale
The Chamber has a Ricoh Aficio 220 Copier for sale. It is 22 copies per minute with a document feeder, large capacity tray, two paper trays, bypass tray and stand. It also has five toner cartridges. We are asking $500, OBO. Please call the Chamber office at 785-738-2717 if interested.

Board Retreat
I want to thank the Chamber Board for meeting on Wednesday, November 7th, for four hours to plan the 2013 year. Great discussions were held and the direction the Board wants the Chamber to go is exciting. In December, look for the 2013 Beloit Area Chamber of Commerce Strategic Plan. Wonderful things are happening and it is a great time to live in Beloit and the surrounding communities.
Good luck to the Beloit Trojan Football team as they travel to Sedgwick tonight for round 3 of the playoffs. Bring home another Trojan victory!
