Julius C. Becker

Julius C. Becker, 88, passed away November 10, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Downs, KS. He was born January 10, 1924 at a farm south of Downs, KS. He was the son of Casper and Susie Lutgen Becker and resided in Downs, KS. He worked at Beech Aircraft and Weitzel Manufacturing before coming back to farm and establish Becker
Manufacturing Company. He worked for the ASC office in Osborne as a crop adjuster, then as a realtor and a crop insurance salesman.
He married Anna Vierthaler on June 10, 1946 at St. Leo, KS. She survives. Other survivors include one son LeWayne (Pat) Becker of Olathe, KS; four daughters, Evelyn
Walters of Topeka KS, Marilyn (Dennis) Dryden of Stockton, KS, Rosemary (Buddy) Bisterfeldt of Linwood, KS and Janese (David) Little of Raton; NM; two brothers, Charles
(Virginia) Becker, Prescott, AZ and Leo Becker, Kansas City, KS, one sister, Helen Lewin, San Gabriel, CA; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Francis; a sister Josephine Streit; and a stillborn daughter in 1964.
He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Downs, KS, the American Legion of Tipton and the Veterans of Foreign War.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Downs, KS. A vigil will be held Wednesday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m. at the church. Final resting place is in the Downs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Downs, KS; Golden Living
