Lowell E. Tobyne

Lowell E. Tobyne, age 84, died Tues., Nov. 13, 2012 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.

He was born on Aug. 26, 1928 in Clay Center, KS to Samuel & Mabel Tobyne. Lowell graduated from Clay Center High School. He married Lois Yeager on Sept. 27, 1950 in Idana, KS. Lowell began farming in Clay Co. and shortly after getting married began farming in Washington Co. for 40 years. Lowell was also a Crop insurance adjuster and later a Right of Way agent for the telephone company. Lowell was a member of the Lion's Club and served on several local boards, including, Soil Conservation, Farm Bureau, Dry Creek Watershed and the local school board for several years, serving in all capacities, including president.

Lowell is survived by his wife, Lois, Clyde; sons, Bryce (Mary), Enid, OK & Arlan (Rita), Dodge City, KS; daughter, Arlis Keller (Brian), Greeley, CO; 8 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents & son, Dwight.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Sat., Nov. 17, 2012 at the Clyde United Methodist Church, Clyde with Rev. Anita Strommen officiating. Burial will follow the services at Fancy Creek Cemetery, Green, KS. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm with family greeting friends from 6-8 pm, Friday at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Clyde United Methodist Church or Clyde Beautification Committee in care of the funeral home.
