Vyonda Nadine Welch

Vyonda Nadine Welch, 71, of Jewell, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, Kansas. She was born May 9, 1941, to Paul and Vera Phillips Frost.

Vyonda as an Air Force wife, travelled extensively throughout the world with her husband Larry during his twenty one years of service. Vyonda and family resided in Tucson, Arizona; Fairbanks, Alaska; Omaha, Nebraska; Bangkok, Thailand where Larry worked at the American Embassy during the Vietnam War and Austin, Texas where they retired prior to moving back to Kansas in 2004.

Vyonda worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Johnsons Fleet Service in Austin, TX. She had a green thumb and loved working in her yard and flower beds and brought the "country" to her yard in Texas. She also loved her chickens that she was finally able to acquire when she moved back to Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul. Survivors are husband - Larry and sons - Jeffrey and Michael of the home, daughter - Michelle Crocker and husband - Ken of Lorena Texas, grandson - Kyle Baker of Lorena, Texas; grandson - Daniel Crocker of Portland, Oregon, granddaughter - Brandy Crocker of Saginaw, Texas and great grandchildren - Evan and Riley of Saginaw, Texas; her mother - Vera Frost of Esbon, Kansas; brother - John Frost and wife - Lila of Esbon, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Melby Mortuary in Mankato, KS on Wednesday, December 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Esbon, Kansas, with burial at the Esbon Cemetery.
