Lively entertainment by a family of nine
Dedicated to the Late Carl and Betty Fitzgerald
The Hunt Family, all nine of them, come to town Saturday, February 2, to perform for the members of the Beloit Area Concert Association at the Beloit Municipal Building-starting time: 7:00p.m.
The Hunt Family fiddlers are an award winning family of Irish step dancers, fiddlers and singers that perform Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational, country and light rock plus a diverse repertoire of original compositions. Champion fiddling is mixed with a blend of world-ranked step dancing and beautiful vocal harmonies. Acoustic and electric guitars accompany soaring piano melodies and the fiddling and step-dancing are world class!
The family consists of songwriter and performers Clint and Sandy (Mom and Dad) along with their seven children: Jessi and Jenni (21 yr. old identical twins); Josh (19), Jonathan (18), Jordan (16), Justin (14), and JJ (13).
The Hunts have performed from Scotland to Ireland to Canada and all over the United States. They have opened for the Virginia Symphony and performed for Queen Elizabeth during her most recent visit to the US. They have played at performing arts centers, festivals and schools across the country. They did a highly successful 60+ concert tour for Allied concerts in the 2007-2008 season.
The Hunts have produced and recorded 5 CDs; they have authored and published 101 Sizzling Tips for Excellence on the Violin and Fiddle Book, and have produced The Hunt Family DVD. The Hunts also sponsor the Hunt Family Music Blast summer camp each year.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of the late Carl and Betty Fitzgerald. They were both devoted educators in Mitchell County and encouraged many students to develop their skills and talents. The Fitzgerald's contributions to the Board of Beloit Area concert Association and attendance at concerts were greatly appreciated. The Beloit Area Concert Association extends much gratitude for the generous memorial gifts in honor of Carl and Betty from their friends, family, and children Bud Fitzgerald and Jeannette Fitzgerald Kadel.
