Glen E. Aurand

Glen Edwin Aurand, the son of Eugene Raymond Aurand and Lelia (Schnitker) Aurand, was born March 31, 1927 in Rural Republic County, KS and passed away on January 19, 2013 at the Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 18 days.
Glen grew up on the family farm in rural Republic County. He attended the Big Ben and Pine Country Schools and graduated from Hardy High School in 1945.
After his schooling, he began farming along with his brother Ward, in and around Republic County near Hardy, NE all his life.
On September 14, 1958 at Lewistown, PA he was united in marriage to Helen Bradford, and to this union was born: Karen, Clay, Marilyn and Jana. The couple made their home at rural Republic County, KS for many years, moving to Belleville, KS recently.
Glen served on the Co-op Board for several years, and also was a seed corn dealer for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Lelia Aurand, and an infant sister: Orba, and a granddaughter: Elise Nichole.
Glen is survived by his wife Helen Aurand of Belleville, KS; children:
Karen (Allen) Hinkle of Ankeny, IA; Clay (Gina) Aurand of Belleville, KS;
Marilyn Aurand of Courtland, KS; and Jana (Jim) Brennecke of Ankeny, IA; one brother Ward (Ilene) Aurand of Courtland, KS; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at TEN AM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel with Pastor Roger Walls, officiating.
Interment will be at the Rosemound Cemetery, rural Hardy, NE.
Visitation will be from One PM until 9:00 PM on Monday and from
9:00AM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Memorials are suggested to Republic County Hospital or Republic County Historical Museum.
