The Kansas Healthcare Collaborative (KHC) announces Craig A. Concannon, MD, FACP, Internal Medicine at Beloit Medical Center, P.A., Beloit, KS, as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Concannon was appointed to the one-year position on January 17 during the quarterly board meeting. He previously served as vice-chairman.
In addition, Lambert A. Wu, MD, FACP, FACC, cardiologist practicing at Cotton O'Neil Heart Care, and Chair, Department of Internal Medicine, Stormont-Vail HealthCare, Topeka, will serve as the new vice-chairman of the board. Wu previously served as secretary/treasurer of the board.
"KHC is privileged to have a board composed of the best medical leaders from across Kansas," said Kendra Tinsley, executive director of the organization. " Drs. Concannon and Wu both embrace the vision that transforming health care quality, safety and affordability should be led by those who deliver care to patients at the bedside."
Concannon earned his degree in medicine from the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine in Wichita. He has practiced in the Beloit community since 1987. He serves as Governor's Counsel, for the Kansas Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and received the Kansas Laureate Award in 2012. He was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Advisory Committee on Trauma in 1999, and the KanCare Advisory Council in 2010.
Wu received his degree in medicine from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and American College of Cardiology. He is currently Governor of the Kansas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a member of the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology. He has practiced in the Topeka community since 2004.
Concannon and Wu are both founding board members of KHC which was established in 2008 by the Kansas Medical Society and the Kansas Hospital Association.
KHC is a provider-led organization with a mission to transform health care through patient-centered initiatives that improve quality, safety and value. The board of directors is comprised of 18 health care leaders from across the State of Kansas. KHC embodies the commitment of two of the state's leading health care provider groups to act as a resource and continuously enhance the quality of care provided to Kansans.
