Lorena Marie (Conn) Hatfield

Lorena Marie (Conn) Hatfield, 89, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Deseret Heath & Rehab Center of Smith Center.

Lorena was born on October 18, 1923 in Harlan, KS, the daughter of Lee Erwin and Stella Ieta (Shambaugh) Conn. On May 3, 1942 she married Clarence Hatfield in Red Cloud , NE, they shared over 70 years of marriage together. To this union they were blessed with two children, Nick and Fern.

She was a member of the Harlan Church and SonShine Christian Church of Smith Center.

Lorena is survived by her husband Clarence of the home, son Nick Hatfield and wife Carolyn of Littleton, CO; daughter Fern Taylor and husband Bud of McKinney, TX; two brothers, Bill Conn and wife Marie of Southern, CA, Kirk Conn and wife Cindy of Mt. Vernon, WA; four sisters, Iola McDermed of Downs, Maxine Webb of Stanton, CA, Vonda Henry of Salina, Opal Taylor and husband Neolan of Topeka, KS; a sister-in-law, Alberta Conn of Longwood, FL; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Conn, a sister Mary Perkins and a brother-in-law Dean Perkins.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the All Faiths Funeral Chapel, Smith Center, with Pastor Jim Karg officiating. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 and 8:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Crystal Plains Cemetery, Smith County, KS. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral chapel. www.allfaithschapel.com.
