Jean Trussell, age 85, died, Tues., Feb. 5, 2013 at The Nicol Home, Glasco, KS.
Jean was born on April 19, 1927 in Rural Randall, KS to Ray & Etta (Studer) McMillan. Jean grew up in the Randall community. She married Lyle Trussell on Dec. 15, 1946 near Randall, KS after Lyle's discharge from the Navy. Jean worked in the banking field, in several different communities all her life, until her retirement in 1982. Lyle & Jean spent 9 years traveling extensively in their motor home and visited all 50 states except Rhode Island & Hawaii. They were Delphos, KS residents when they were not traveling, fishing or golfing. Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church, Delphos.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Chancy (Terry), Delphos; sons, James Trussell (Mary), Hanahan, SC, John Trussell (Alice), Manhattan, Gary Trussell (Rita), Crossett, AR & Terry Trussell, Huntington Beach, CA; sister, Susan Buer (Ed), Norway; brother, Kenneth McMillan, Vancouver, WA; sisters in law, Naomi Flewelling, Weber, Pauline McMillan, Beloit, Donna Trussell & Joann Trussell both of KC, KS; 7 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle on July 21, 1995; her parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Chancy; brothers, Richard, Ronald, Harold, Wilbur & Max McMillan & sisters, Rachel Hancock & Joann McMillan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Sat., Feb. 9, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm with family greeting friends from 7-8 pm, Fri. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
