Leslie M. Lyons

Leslie Marion Lyons, the daughter of Leslie Marion Joseph and Dorothy Emily (Batty) Joseph, was born September 23, 1930 at Everett, WA and passed away on February 7, 2013 at her residence at rural Haddam, KS at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 14 days.
Leslie grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she attended school and graduated from Everett High School, Everett, WA. She then attended and graduated from Everett General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Everett General Hospital and later at Cedar Wooley and Seattle, WA hospitals. Her main focus was on psychiatric nursing and medicine. In 1976, she moved to Haddam, KS where she was worked at area hospitals for several years, later retiring after
over 42 years as a registered nurse.
She was united in marriage to Jack Craft and to this union 7 children were born. He preceded her in death in April of 1973. On December 26, 1978, at Clay Center, KS she was united in marriage to Fred E. Lyons and he survives.
Leslie loved her home, farm and gardening. She also enjoyed knitting, reading books, and her computer. She was involved in nursing with the American Psychiatric Association for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Craft in 1973, oldest daughter: Meredith Ann in 1992.
Leslie is survived by her husband: Fred E. Lyons of Haddam, KS; 6 Children: Allyson (Howard) Gillis of Jacksonville, Illinois, Lyle S. Craft of Winslow, AZ, Laure (Greg) Grammer of Moses Lake, WA, Russell T. (Wilma) Craft of Haddam, KS, Beth (Leon) Ball of Belleville, KS and Dale Van Nortwick of Salina, KS; one sister: Georgianna Young of Seattle, WA; one brother: Lynn Joseph of Anchorage, AK: 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at ELEVEN AM, Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the Belleville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mark McGregor, officiating.
Graveside funeral services will be held at TWO PM, Monday, Feb. 11th at the Hawks Cemetery, rural Cuba, KS.
The casket has been closed, but friends may call to sign the register from 1 PM until 5 PM on Saturday and 1 PM until 9 PM on Sunday at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
