Leadership Mitchell County is offering to interested citizens of the area a sponsorship for the $40.00 registration fee to attend of a K-State Research & Extension Board Leadership Workshop that will be offered over a four week span in March 2013. The sponsorship is available for the first six applicants who apply. The four Monday evening sessions will kick off on March 4, 2013 with a session on Conducting Effective Meetings. The second topic on March 11 will review Understanding Fellow Board Members and Conflict Management. Fundraising, Fund Management, Legalities and Ethics will be covered in the March 18 session. The final session of March 25 will deal with Strategic Planning for community groups. All sessions will be conducted from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Guaranty State Bank Meeting room, Beloit, Kansas. "This is a great opportunity for current and future leaders in our area," stated Curt Frasier, member of the board of directors of Leadership Mitchell County. Similar sessions are being sponsored by Kansas State Research Extension at Eldorado, Garden City, Hutchinson, Leavenworth, Liberal, Manhattan, Norton, Topeka, and Sabetha.
