Raymond Eugene King

Raymond Eugene King, age 83, of Concordia, Kansas died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, KS. He was born April 7, 1929 at Concordia son of Elwin and Bertha (Alexander) King.
He was united in marriage to Merridy Baily November 23, 1949, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Concordia, KS.
Reading, especially Civil War history, and gardening were activities he enjoyed doing.
After graduating from Concordia High School in 1947 he then worked over forty years old. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, blue Lodge and other York Rite Masonic Bodies of Concordia, ScottishRite, and Isis Shine Temple, both of Salina and Ophel Chapter order of Eastern Star of Belleville.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 63 years, daughter Laurel King and friend Greg Hughes of Topeka, son Galen and wife Irene King of Lafayette, Indiana, granddaughters Erin and husband Keith Robinson and Jessica Brunken, all of Topeka, grandsons Aaron King of Middletown, Conn., Seth King of Moscow, Russia, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorial services will be Thursday, February 28 at Trinity United Methodist Church of Concordia at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Koechner officiating. Burial will follow services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 27 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel.
Memorials may be given to the church or Meadowlarf Hospice in car of Nutter Mortuary. 116 East 6th.
