Raymond L. Blase, 83, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. He was born April 8, 1929, in rural Sylvan Grove. He was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors: wife, Thelma (Strecker) Blase, of Sylvan Grove; sons, Louis Ray (Carolyn Faye) Blase, of Sylvan Grove, and Robert (Shari) Blase, of Red Wing; daughters, Shirley (Kenneth) Small, of Sylvan Grove, Judy Meier, of Wilson, and Marilyn Errebo, of New York; brothers, Ronald (Mary Jane) Blase, of Salina, and Kenneth (Judy) Blase, of Camas, Wash.; sister, Lois Burger, of Lucas; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death: parents; son, Richard Blase; and grandsons, William Small, in 2000, and Garrett Blase, in 2006.
Visitation: 3-7 p.m. today, March 1, at Rodrick & Minear Sylvan Chapel.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sylvan Grove.
