Johanna K. Krause

Johanna Katherine Louise Krause was born on April 28, 1922 in Koblenz, Germany to Carl J. & Hedwich L. Miller. When she was two weeks old she was brought to the U.S. and spent most of her childhood in Minnesota. She died on Thurs., Feb. 28, 2013 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, at the age of 90.

She married Merlin Krause on Sept. 26, 1942 in Minnesota. She was a homemaker and a cashier at various gas stations. She was formally a resident of Marble Falls, TX and a long time member of the First Baptist Church under Brother Max Copeland. She came to Concordia 9 years ago and lived at the Sunset Nursing Home where she looked forward to bible study every Thursday with Bob Burns. She had a sweet soul that could calm the most aggressive waters and was always a joy to be around. She has truly touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Lavoie, Concordia & Sheila Crosslin and husband Jeff, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Cassie Hanson, Candi Hanson and Natasha Lavoie, all of TX, Danny Lavoie and wife Katie, Concordia; 4 great grandchildren in TX, 3 great grandchildren in Concordia; 1 great great granddaughter in TX; brother, Jerry Miller and wife Marilyn of Lakeville, MN; sister, Gertrude Ehlers and several nieces and nephews in Minnesota. She was preceded by her husband, parents, son in law, Ted, five sisters, one brother & great grandson, Hunter Russell Collins.

The family selected cremation and Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Fri, March 8, 2013 at Sunset Nursing Home, in the Sun Room, with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Minnesota. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials to the Johanna K. Krause Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be left at www.chaputbuoy.com.
