Belleville Lions Club Invitational

The Beloit Trojans traveled to Belleville on Tuesday, April 16th to participate in the Belleville Lions Club Invitational. This meet has two divisions, an upper division of 2A and 3A schools, which the Trojans competed in, and a lower division of 1A schools. Medals were awarded to all six places and championship and runner-up plaques were awarded to the first and second place teams in each division.
The Trojan boys brought home a total of 33 medals (18 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze, 3--4th , 1--5th, 1--6th) and finished 1st scoring a total of 187 points. Minneapolis was second with 74 points and Nemaha Valley was 3rd with 63 points.
Gold medal winners for Beloit were Austin Budke in the high jump at 6'4" and the triple jump at 42'1", Jace Adams in the 110m high hurdles in 16.46 and the 300m hurdles in 42.85, Alex Conn in the 1600m run in 4:41.7 and the 3200m run in 10:07.38, Tanner Hulett in the long jump at 19' 10 ½", Bryce Black in the shot put at 47' 9 ½", Dylan Heidrick in the discus at 138' 1", Cadyn Carter in the javelin at 163' 5", the 4X100m relay team of Jace Adams, R.J. Jackson, Austin Budke, and Payton Vetter in 45.41, and the 4X400m relay team of Tanner Niemczyk, R.J. Jackson, Payton Vetter, and Austin Budke in 3:38.34.
Silver medal winners were Tanner Niemczyk in the 100m dash in 11.26 and the 400m dash in 52.48, Boston Wolfe in the 300m hurdles in 43.87, Payton Vetter in the high jump at 5' 10", and Stanten Krone in the shot put at 47' ½".
Bronze medal winners were Daniel Herndon in the javelin at 149' 4" and the 4X800m relay team of Hunter Post, Anthony Nunez, Colson Reames, and Bailey Vetter in 9:37.09.
The fourth place medal winners were Isaiah Horton in the pole vault at 11'0", Danny Perez in the high jump at 5'8", and Damon Tatro in the discus at 126'8".
The fifth place medal winner was R.J. Jackson in the 400m dash in 54.55.
The sixth place medal winner was Caleb Palen in the long jump at 17'6 ¾".
The Lady Trojans brought home a total of 33 medals (4 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze, 2--4th, 8--5th, 8 --6th) and finished 1st with 119 points. Marysville was second with 99 points and Washington County was 3rd with 84 points.
Gold medal winners for Beloit were Kaley Broeckelman in the 100m hurdles in 16.11 and the 300m hurdles in 49.52 and Remi Behrends in the high jump at 5'0" and the triple jump at 31'7".
Silver medal winners were Britt Widrig in the 100m hurdles in 16.75, Ocean Paul in the pole vault at 9'6", Alexis Budke in the triple jump at 31' 5 ½", and the 4X100m relay team of Alana Budke, Remi Behrends, Kennedy Brown, and Hannah Smith in 53.01.
Bronze medal winners were Remi Behrends in the 200m dash in 27.58, Britt Widrig in the 300m hurdles in 50.93, Madison Hewitt in the pole vault at 9'0", and Alana Budke in the long jump at 14'10".
The fourth place medal winners were Michaela Pingel in the 3200m run in 14:14.54, and Hannah Smith in the 100m dash in 13.4.
The fifth place medal winners were Hannah Smith in the 200m dash in 28.47, Alana Budke in the 400m dash in 1:08.14, Kaley Broeckelman in the high jump at 4'8", Paige Hafliger in the long jump at 14'6 ¼", and the 4X800m relay team of Erin Kelley, Madison Wolfe, Savanna Cox, and Michaela Pingel in 12:15.02.
The sixth place medal winners were Alexis Budke in the 100m dash in 13.5, Michaela Pingel in the 1600m run in 6:35.86, Savanna Cox in the 3200m run in 14:45.9, Hannah Smith in the javelin at 103'1", and the 4X400m relay team of Paige Hafliger, Alana Budke, Alexis Budke, and Kaley Broeckelman in 4:42.37.
The next action for the Trojan track teams will be the Phillipsburg meet held on Friday, April 19. The field events will begin at 3:00pm and running event prelims will begin at 4:30pm, with finals starting around 5:30pm.
