James L. “Jim” Snapp

James Lawrence "Jim" Snapp, the son of William T. Snapp and Wilma J. (Proft) Snapp, was born December 25, 1953 at Belleville, KS and passed away on May 4, 2013 at the age of 59 years, 4 months, and 9 days.
Jim grew up in Belleville, attending the local schools and graduating from
Belleville High School in 1972. He worked at Ausherman Mfg. and later Sis Seed both at Belleville. He then worked at Cargill Elevator where he was a grain inspector. On October 17, 1994, he accepted employment with C.A. Picard in Belleville later transferring to the Shellman, GA plant on January 1, 2000 where he was a route driver. He retired and returned to Belleville, KS in May of 2009.
Jim was active in basketball, football, wrestling, was a member of the band while in high school. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS and was a former member of Cub Scout Pack 56, and Boy Scout Troop 56.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joe and Amelia Proft and Glenn and Edna Snapp.
He is survived by his parents Bill and Wilma Snapp of Belleville, KS; two brothers: Billy G. Snapp of Salina, KS and Thomas J. (Dianna) Snapp of Belleville, KS; one sister: Linda (Dan) Wiruth of Newton, KS; 6 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, one great great niece; other relatives, and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Belleville Cemetery, with Pastor Emily Meckley, officiating.
Interment will follow the graveside services.
Visitation will be from One PM until 9PM on Wednesday and from 9AM until 2:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from One PM until 2:30 PM on Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Belleville Health Care Center.
