Russell Relays

The Beloit Trojan track teams traveled to Russell for the annual Russell Relays on Friday, May 3rd. This is typically a very competitive meet with the field made up of four 4A schools and five 3A schools.

The Trojan boys brought home a total of 19 medals (3 gold, 8 silver, 8 bronze) and won the meet with 147 points. Phillipsburg was second with 117 points and TMP-Marian was 3rd with 69 points.

Gold medal winners for the Trojans Alex Conn in the 1600m run in 4:40.37, Austin Budke in the triple jump at 45' 3", and Bryce Black in the shot put at 48'9".

Silver medal winners were Cadyn Carter in the javelin at 168' 5", Dylan Heidrick in the discus at 145' 5", Stanten Krone in the shot put at 47'10", Austin Budke in the high jump at 6'0", Tanner Hulett in the long jump at 21' 3", Jace Adams in the 110m high hurdles in 16.2 and the 300m hurdles in 44.29, and Tanner Niemczyk in the 400m dash in 52.3.

Bronze medal winners were Boston Wolfe in the 110m hurdles in 17.1, Payton Vetter in the high jump at 5'10", Austin Budke in the long jump at 21'0", Damon Tatro in the discus at 141'6", and the 4X100m relay team of Jace Adams, R.J. Jackson, Austin Budke, and Payton Vetter in 45.07.

The lady Trojans competed very well and brought home a total of 20 medals (16 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze) and the first place plaque with 146 points. Concordia was second with 113 points and TMP-Marian was 3rd with 90 points.

Gold medal winners for Beloit were Kaley Broeckleman in the high jump at 5'2", the 100m hurdles in a new school record time of 15.12 and the 300m hurdles in 48.76, Remi Behrends in the triple jump at 34'1 ½" and the 200m dash in 27.67, Alana Budke in the long jump at 16'1" and the 400m dash in 1:03.37, Ocean Paul in the pole vault with a new school record of 11'0", the 4X100m relay team of Alana Budke, Remi Behrends, Kennedy Brown, and Hannah Smith in 52.58, and the 4X400m relay team of Kaley Broeckelman, Alana Budke, Alexis Budke, and Paige Hafliger in 4:23.83.

The silver medal winner was Hannah Smith in the javelin at 109'4".

Bronze medal winners were Britt Widrig in the 300m hurdles in 50.13 and the 100m hurdles, and Remi Behrends in the high jump at 5'0".

The next action for the Trojan track teams is the NCAA league meet hosted by Minneapolis on Friday, May 10th. Field events will start at 3:30pm, running preliminaries at 5:00pm (if necessary), and running finals will begin at 6:00pm.
