Regional Track at Silver Lake

The Trojan track teams traveled to Silver Lake to compete in the regional meet on Friday, May 17th. Regional track meets are made up of 16 teams. The top 4 place finishers in each event qualify to compete at the state meet held at Cessna Stadium in Wichita on May 24th and May 25th. The weather was ideal for a track meet, with the temperature in the 80's and a light wind.

The lady Trojans competed very well, qualifying 10 for the state meet and bringing home 18 medals (3-gold, 7-silver, 7-bronze, and 1-4th) and won the regional championship, scoring 94.5 points. Minneapolis was second with 71 points and Marysville was third with 65 points.

First place finishers for Beloit were Kaley Broeckelman in the 100m hurdles in 15.34 and the 300m hurdles in 47.01, and Ocean Paul in the pole vault at 10'0".

Second place finishers were Britt Widrig in the 100m hurdles in 16.25, and the 300m hurdles in 48.72, Madison Hewitt in the pole vault at 9'6", and the 4X400m relay team of Kaley Broeckelman, Alana Budke, Alexis Budke, and Paige Hafliger in 4:14.91.

Third place finishers were Remi Behrends in the triple jump at 32'10" and the 200m dash in 27.01, Alana Budke in the long jump at 16' 1 ¼", and the 4X100m relay team of Alana Budke, Remi Behrends, Kennedy Brown, and Hannah Smith in 50.82.

Hannah Smith placed fourth in the 100m dash in 12.77.

The Trojan boys had an outstanding day, qualifying 16 for the state meet and bringing home 29 medals (10-gold, 9-silver, 7-bronze, 3-4th) and the regional title with 164 points. Hiawatha was second with 75 points and Marysville was third with 58 points.

First place finishers for Beloit were Austin Budke in the high jump at 6'4", triple jump at 44'6 ¼", and the long jump at 21'5 ½", Alex Conn in the 800m run at 2:03.93, the 1600m run in 4:44.23, and the 3200m run in 10:07.81, Cadyn Carter in the javelin at 166'8", Bryce Black in the shot put at 50'3 ½", Jace Adams in the 300m hurdles in 40.43, and Tanner Niemczyk in the 400m dash in 51.15.

Second place finishers were Stanten Krone in the shot put at 48'9 ¼", the 4X100m relay team of Jace Adams, Tanner Niemczyk, Austin Budke, and Payton Vetter in 44.59, and the 4X400m relay team of R.J. Jackson, Jace Adams, Payton Vetter, and Tanner Niemczyk in 3:32.85.

Third place finishers were Isaiah Horton in the pole vault at 12'0", Cadyn Carter in the discus at 154'10", Tanner Niemczyk in the 100m dash in 11.28, and the 4X800m relay team of Hunter Post, Colson Reames, Bailey Vetter, and Alex Conn in 8:41.35.

Fourth place finishers were Payton Vetter in the high jump at 5'10", Tanner Hulett in the long jump at 20'11", and Baron Crumbaker in the pole vault at 11'6.

Coach Isbell said, "I'm proud of all of the kids. They competed very well and stepped up when they needed to. They have represented our school well and it should be an exciting couple of days in Wichita."

The Trojans will travel to Cessna Stadium in Wichita on Friday and Saturday, May 24th and 25th to compete in the state meet.
