Curtis Joe Tamerius, the son of Clarence “Mike” Arland Tamerius and Madaline (Persinger) Tamerius Dunbar, was born April 29, 1962 at Lincoln, NE and passed away on June 21, 2013 at Belleville, KS at the age of 51 years, 1 month, and 22 days.
Curtis attended schools in Belleville, KS and Superior, NE., later attaining his G.E.D. Curtis worked in Hebron and in Omaha, NE following his schooling and then moved back to Belleville where he assisted his father in the roofing and carpentry business for several years.
Curtis was baptized and was a member of the Baptist Church in Belleville, KS.
He served in the Army Reserves and later the National Guard for several years in the Belleville, KS unit, attaining the rank of SGT.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father Clarence “Mike” Tamerius and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Madaline (Elwin) Dunbar of Ruskin, NE, two sisters Karen McNeal of Omaha, NE and Sonnie Fate of Brainard, NE, his fiancée
Elidia Piper of Belleville, KS; 5 step brothers: Rick White of Janesville, Wisconsin, John White of Belleville, KS, Scott White of Cuba, KS, Shannon White of Belleville, KS, and Lee Dunbar of Superior, NE; one step sister, Debra Hanley of Vermont, step- mother Sharon Tamerius of Belleville, KS, 3 half-brothers, Billy, Mike, and Bobby Tamerius, and two half-sisters, Rose Malone and Laura Saxon; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Cremation was selected and memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Imel, officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later time.
There will be no visitation. Friends may gather prior to the services on Saturday to sign the register.
