Robert "Bob" Long, 82, passed away August 29, 2013. He was born June 23, 1931 in Smith County, Kansas to William Jay and Mayme Margaret (Cunningham) Long.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marlene (Merz), of the home; a son, Jim Long of New Cambria, KS; daughters, Linda (Don) Miller and Janet Carl, both of Downs; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Nola Bess Atwood of Esbon, KS; brothers, Bill of Smith Center, KS and John of Bellevue, KS.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Grady Carl and a brother, Warren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Downs. A visitation will be held Friday, August 30 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Church. A memorial fund has been established to South Oak Creek Cemetery. Final resting place is in South Oak Creek Cemetery, Downs. Domoney Funeral Home, Downs, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
