Beloit Junior High Cross Country Results at Clay Center

The Beloit Junior High Cross country team traveled to Clay Center yesterday to compete in the Clay Center Middle School Invitational. A total of nineteen schools were represented in this very competitive meet where approximately 486 total runners competed in a total of six races. Two "B" team races were followed by 7th grade and 8th grade boys and girls "A" team competitions.
In the 7th grade girls "A" race. There were a total of 87 girls in the competition. Beloit's Atlanta Haller finished 38th in a time of 7:31, followed by Emma Easter in 42nd with a time of 7:35 and Khylie Mihm 47th crossing the finish line with a time of 7:40.
The 7th grade boys "A" race had 92 competitors. Tristen Brummer led the Trojans with a 3rd place overall finish in a time of 5:57. Chance Kopsa finished in the top ten earning a 9th place medal in 6:18. Winning the race in 5:46 was Jaydn Hickel of Washburn Rural followed by Jayden Tate of Junction City in 5:49. Beloit's Calvin Duden finished 85th in a course time of 8:26.
The 8th grade girls "A" race saw Lacy Elsen coming in 41st with a time of 7:48.

The next competition for the Junior High squad will be next Thursday when they travel with the High School squads to compete at the Republic County Invitational.
